There is not much here. Pretty much just the shrine. However the stairs are many but the view is breath-taking.

The year was 2010. I was a young university student exploring my faith. I decided to go on a walking pilgrimage to Martyr's Shrine. What an incredible adventure it was. This site is incredibly hilly, but filled to the brim with history and tools for spiritual practice (for example, an outside stations of the cross, relics of the Canadian Martyrs,... More

This is an amazing place to spend a couple of hours. The grounds alone are beautiful & well worth the entrance fee, The church is fantastic, although it was built in the 1920's it certainly has an ethereal feel about it. There are shrines dotted all over the place to different cultures & creeds. There are also outdoor altars. You... More

This is a beautiful church, visible from almost anywhere in Midland and from the highway. The architecture is interesting and, of course, there are many sculptures, chapels, and lookouts around what is a vast property with many picnic areas for you to enjoy the peaceful setting. Inexpensive entry fee; special group rates.

interesting place to stop at, and see the shrine. Pope John Paul II visited back in the 80's and the location is rich in history and impressive to see. lots of tourists during prime season, but worth a visit.

This beautiful shrine dedicated to the Jesuit Canadian Martyrs is well worth the trip. The incredible beauty and significance of this site, where Indigenous people (Wendake or Huron) experienced a true cultural encounter and made connections with the Europeans (French) is not a well known story for most Canadians.

I didn't have much time here...they do have school programs I noticed. I would recommend a guided tour especially if you're not Catholic as it is almost gibberish otherwise!
