We went with our grandson and family to the Christmas train event which had Santa, whistle making, toy trains, Bon fire and a short ride on the Xmas train. It was busy but very well organized and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The staff running the event were friendly and very helpful.

We are two 50 something women.Late November we visited Smiths Falls for a family reunion. Thanks to my diligent Sister-in-law we were offered a private tour of the museum. The only downside was because it was off season, some of the inside displays were not available. We were met promptly at noon and given a great tour including a ride... More

This gem of a museum highlights the railway history in eastern Ontario. The station is beautifully restored, with original woodwork and signage. Check out the dental car, it's amazing. Well worth the visit, and come back often as they continue to build their collection.

This was great for the kids as they could climb on the trains and see them as they were years ago. The grandkids I had with me wanted to see each train more than once...They could sit in the engineer's seat and see the world from that perspective. There is a room with pictures from the era of the trains... More

I learned about this museum from a fellow TripAdvisor reviewer and decided to give it a try. It turned out the long drive was well worth it! My four year old had fun like in no other museum or no other amusement place for that matter. The staff was fantastic. We stayed overnight in the red caboose, and it was... More

This is a great museum for adults and children. It is very much a hand on experience with trains to climb onto, caboose that gives you the experience of what it would have been like for the rail men who lived in them while travelling. Also the “Dental Train”... In the 1930s the Ontario government funded a program to provide... More

Great place for kids to see the trains and maybe even spend the night in a railway car. Fun for all.

A very rare look into the history of the dental car on the train. The museum is lots of fun and great place to have a birthday party for your grandsons, who love Thomas

This is another great walk for families who are travelling through Smiths Falls by boat. It is 15 minutes from the locks and tie-up area. In addition to featuring a lovely old station, the station master's office is worth a view. New on this visit was a handcart ride where I took my three grandchildren and, along with a staff... More
