This is a place I like to bring beginner hiking friends to. For new hikers, it's an easy 1 hour uphill, and there's the option of the actual hiking trail through the woods, or the gravel road (also through the woods but the views aren't...More

Quick drive (~2 minutes) from Canmore with great scenery and some of the most picturesque little lakes in the area. You can even see some rock-climbers on the walls as you hike. I'd recommend you get to the trailhead early; we got there around 8:30am...More

This 2-mile hike is easy to get to from Canmore and has great scenery - beautiful waterfall and small mountain lakes. The hike can be a loop with one side of the loop being slightly more challenging and nicer scenery. Can also stick to the...More

The great thing about hiking Grassi Lakes is it meets so many different wants- great views, walk beside a waterfall, not too tough, and you can take the easy path down (or both ways if you want to skip the scenic hike to get to...More

We chose the more difficult way to the top, and it's not for those with limitations. The easier way is basically a road, while the difficult way includes steep vertical climbing. Both ways offer access to beautiful lakes at the top, and are a great...More

We stayed in Canmore and looked for a scenic hike in Canmore. Would highly recommend this one! Perfect for the non-hikers, beginners. Very scenic at the top! Take mosquito spray!

I noticed there was a sign saying not to swim in it. I did stick my hand in the water and it's pretty cold. Maybe they just want the lake free of people?
