This is a turn of the century store/tea time. Lots of home goodies from England. I find the prices on the higher side for what you are getting for lunch. The ambience of an old time store is amazing. This is a must visit to Clayburn Villiage as it is free to wander around and see some old buildings including... More

Big jars of various candies, squeeky floors, home made soup and British crumpets with wipped butter and home made jam, served with good english tea in old fashion China sets on individual tables... that would be the "it" when one likes to enjoy a afternoon or lunch tea the old fashion ways... simply jummy and very comfortable and inviting to... Always a treat to have lunch here and also to stock up on goodies to satisfy my sweet tooth! You can find British goodies here. Great atmosphere, helpful staff, good prices.

I just spent 7 nights at this charming Bed and Breakfast. We were in town to attend a family funeral and Ramsey and Lesley were so kind and accommodating to myself and my family. The bedrooms are charming and cozy and the beds are so comfortable. We also enjoyed family gatherings in the parlour, the next best thing to being... More

Lunch at the Teahouse in the Clayburn General Store proved a real treat. The store itself honours the past. Childhood memories are triggered by a huge range of candies, treats, soft drinks and much, much more. Browsing is a must. Watch out for the scones! They're amazing. Our soup and sandwich lunches were delicious and very reasonably priced. We found... More

This is my favorite spot to have lunch on a hot summer day. The food is prepared with care, and passion.. The owner, who is always on a quest around the world for new recipes, will explain at great length how such and such a dish has come to be part of the menu... The scones are AMAZING, and the... What a quaint and comfortable place. The ambiance is warm and reflective as it draws on many childhood memories. If you want to get away for something old and something new then this is your place. It is one of a kind and it is steeped in days gone by. It has many culinary bits both on the menu and... More

On the off chance that you find this place open, stay clear of the candy, most of it is old. Try before you leave the store because you might have to return it. This place could be a gold mine but owners have a whatever attitude about being open so they have lost the interest of many locals. One day... More

This beautiful little village store was warm and appealing from the outside. There was a beautiful animated Christmas workshop scene in the front window. As we walked inside we were taken back to a different time. Back to a time of the "general store". There was every kind of "penny candy", chocolates, preserves etc. that you could imagine. So many...
