I was staying at a hotel in Richmond by the airport without a rental car. Took the free shuttle from downtown out to Grouse Mountain. They don't require you purchase any tickets before you get there. I knew the hike was only 2 miles so...More

So much work has been done on this trail which is good since it is so busy! Great workout but that's the best reason to climb up this trail. Not the place for solitude and being one with nature. Beer and nachos in the bar...More

This is the place for a great cardio workout, climbing the stairway to hell. Don't expect an enjoyable outdoor expedition with the birds and the bees though. It's overwhelmed with fitness fanatics, tourists, and naive walkers in flip flops. This is no easy walk or...More

I think the main pull of Grouse Grind seems to be the sense of achievement after the really steep climb...but if you want a 'pretty' hike, I would recommend other walks. It was quite crowded and when we got to the top we couldn't see...More

A great attraction for all ages. I would recommend going in the morning as it will be cooler and probably fewer people on the path. It is not an easy climb there were are stairs and ropes along the way to help people. Also take...More

We started with a lot of energy... Maybe to much energy! After 20 minutes we lost speed! You can't look up.. That's really a bad idea! But when you reach the end (after 1h15) it's fantastic!

Well conceived idea, well maintained, and kept all the natural aspects superbly. Trail is only an ascent but would love to see a descent added one day. Challenging so for best if you have a decent level of fitness.

A tough climb but well worth it when we reached the top. We did this with a 13 and 11 year old and despite their initial protests they practically skipped up leaving us parents lagging behind! Good trainers or hiking boots are a must, as...More

Hiking the Grouse Grind on a hot day is a challenge. It is very steep for pretty much the entire hike. That said, it is truly beautiful views of Vancouver, the bay and the surrounding forest. And once you get to the top, there are...More

Take ur time and enjoy the hike. I did it as fast as I could. U can do it! But definitely take water. And buy a t-shirt at the top - gives the specifics -3000 steps, etc. Have fun!
