About
Only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, allow 2 - 3 hours for your visit to Vancouver's iconic Capilano Suspension Bridge, hanging 450 feet (137m) across and 230 feet (70m) above Capilano River. The park offers more than just the bridge. Its surrounding 27 acres celebrate nature, history and culture in unique and thrilling ways. Cliffwalk hangs for 213m (700ft) and reaches 91m (300ft) high, hugging the granite cliffside and offering a panoramic view of the thriving rainforest and canyon far below. On Treetops Adventure walk from one magnificent old growth Douglas-fir to another on a series of seven elevated suspension bridges, reaching as high as 110 feet (33m), for a squirrel's eye view of the forest. Guides, signage and interactive exhibits throughout the park help you in your understanding of rainforest ecosystems and their sustainability.

- bunnySouthportSouthport, United Kingdom1,698 contributionsAbsolutely incredible experienceWe had firstly seen this advertised on a comercial site at about $150 but when we researched it , found that you can order direct with the park and they even have a free shuttle from three different locations in Vancouver and the total costs are considerably less. This park is an amazing experience on the various bridges and walkways through the jungle of trees. If you are lucky you may see some local wildlife. If you don’t you will come away with a real knowledge of the local ecology. Expect to spend in excess of 3 hours. Absolutely brilliantFeedback like this really makes us smile. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your 5 star experience. - Phil NCootamundra, Australia306 contributionsGreat place to visit, albeit overcrowded on the day we wentWe booked on a full day tour out of Vancouver to take in the capitano Suspension Bridge as well as Grose Mountain and other attractions. It was well organised and on time, the only downside was the huge number of other people who had the same idea on a beautiful summer day! The crowd cued up and on the bridge - when we got there - was unbelievable and even a local man we spoke to said he had made many visits, but never seen it like it was on that late July day! The tree walk and cliff walks were equally enjoyable as were the food and refreshment outlets. The crowd aside, an experience to be recommended to our friends.Hi there, we really appreciate you taking the time to share a detailed 5 star review! - AnilAggarwalKurukshetra, India7,143 contributionsThrilling experienceDuring our Vancouver visit in September 2023, we enjoyed this park. It has many activities. Capilano suspension bridge is on Capilano river, 137 meter long & 70 meter high from river base. Treetop adventure is a series of 7 suspension bridges with plateforms in between rainforest trees, 33meter high. Cliff walk bridge 213 meter long with beautiful views. Tickets are as per age. Child below 5 years & wheelchair visitors are free. Senior citizens have discount. Online tickets are cheaper than window. Evening tickets were cheaper when we visited. Free shuttle is available both ways from downtown Vancouver. Best activity to enjoy in Vancouver. We’re happy you enjoyed your time at the park, thank you for visiting and for taking the time to share your experienceWritten 3 December 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 December 2023

Safety was well looked after and they were controlling the crowds on the bridge with great care . It was surreal , and great coffee and hot chocolate at the other end !Thanks for the kind words and the 5 stars. - NorCal-traveler08Orangevale, California2,364 contributionsAmazing timeWe went in December for the Christmas lights. This park was decked out and decorated beautifully for Christmas. The suspension bridge is wild. It is not for the faint of heart, it gets swinging and jumping and it is long. The opposite side has paths to walk with lights everywhere. You can walk on swing bridges from tree to tree. There is a place for hot chocolate and a heated seating area. Back across the bridge you can walk on the cliff walk and see totem poles. They have a nice gift shop and restaurant. We took a free shuttle from Canada Place(25 minutes). The price was about $50USD and well worth it. You do need to buy tickets with a timed entry. We would recommend arriving just before dark so you can see the river below the suspension bridge and do the Cliff Walk first. We had a great time and highly recommend it.Hi there - Thanks for taking the time to share the kind words and the 5 stars. - Marc WWeymouth, United Kingdom1,949 contributionsNot for those who don't like heights!A Temperate Rainforest. We didn't realise that a free shuttle bus ran regularly from Canada Place in Vancouver to the park, so we had used public transport to make our way there. It was late September when we visited, so we had no problem getting a ticket as there were no queues. The price we paid on the gate was, $70.00pp Once inside you have to go over the pedestrian suspension bridge, now of you don't like heights this is as far as you will go! This was the busiest part of the park, people in the way, taking selfies, running and jumping doesn't make for a pleasant experience!! Once over the bridge the park is amazing, cool lakes, huge birds, even bigger trees, and suspended walkways between some of these trees. Oh and also a few places to grab a drink and a snack! If this wasn't enough high action for you, then there's always the newish Cliffwalk to finish the day! You could easily spend a whole day here enjoying the beautiful park.Hi! - Yareli AFresno, California6 contributionsTotally Worth It!We took a spontaneous trip to Vancouver from Seattle and when searching for things to do this popped up. We were skeptical at first because of the price per person but we were SO HAPPY that we ended up doing it. Literally, an experience to remember. We were so lucky that Canyon Lights was still happening because it was truly beautiful. We got in at 4:30 so we got there right as the sun was going down and barely had enough light to view the Capilano river before it got completely dark, but it was still beautiful with all the lights. I would really love to go again during the day to really admire the forest and surrounding areas. Truly one of a kind experience. Thanks for the kind words and the 5 stars. - SouthtrackCanberra, Australia249 contributionsMust-do Half-Day TripThis is a must-do for visitors to Vancouver. The suspension bridge is impressive, and the walkways, including the treetop walk, are well built into the forest, or against the cliff-face. Being from Australia, my family had been to similar bridges and suspended walks at home, but this was the first time we had seen a rainforest of pine trees, and the deep gorge and clear fast river add some drama to the scenery. To cap it off, there is a good selection of light or restaurant food for after the walk. The only thing that didn’t resonate with us was the addition of artificial lights throughout the walkways. Perhaps because we weren’t there in the evening, we didn’t get to appreciate the lights in the dusk, but in the daylight, we felt that nature would have done better without artificial additions.Hi there! We’re happy you enjoyed your time at the park, thank you for visiting and for taking the time to share your experience! - Brian L69 contributionsOverpriced but worth doing onceThis is undoubtedly overpriced for a walk in the woods, but I am glad that I went. It wasn’t crowded at ~4pm on a Monday in March. The bridge wasn’t so excited but the temperate rainforest is a unique and beautiful environment that is not familiar to most parts of the world. Being in the forest and the totem poles were my favorite parts.Thank you for taking the time to share your review, we are happy to hear you were able to enjoy the park! Did you know that as a BC resident, you have the incredible opportunity to enjoy an annual pass for the same price as a 1-day ticket? This exclusive offer is our way of showing appreciation to our local community. But that's not all – there's a whole world of enchantment waiting for you throughout the year. Imagine experiencing the magic of events like Canyon Lights, where the beauty of the canyon comes alive with a mesmerizing display of lights. And for those seeking a thrill, Canyon Frights offers a ghostly adventure like no other. We wanted to come here for dinner at 7pm. When we arrived we were told by the woman at the entrance station
That we had to all pay $59 for each of us (to adults and 2 teens) just for the entrance to the park to get to the restaurant. We said that we just wanted to get to the restaurant and were told that we had to pay the entrance fee to get to
The restaurant. So we would have had to pay $240 just to walk to the restaurant and then pay for dinner as well. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed and were not willing to pay that much for the walk. This was not a good set up.

Firstly this is a bit of a pricey attraction which had a big influence on the review, it was over $100 for 2 adults and probably only need 2-3 hours to go round so quite expensive when it doesn’t even entertain you all day. The suspension bridge is good, but I wouldn’t say anything special compared to similar things in other countries. The tree top walk is cool and more sturdy than I was expecting and then there is a nature trail which is longer than it looks. Everything is on a board walk so pretty easy to walk along but there are lots of stairs. I enjoyed the cliff top walk and again very sturdy but a bit narrower and then there is a small shack that sells hot chocolate and small snacks and then a big shop and restaurant. There aren’t any particularly good views apart from the river from the suspension bridge and views of the bridge itself, overall it was okay and I’m glad we went but not worth the price.
Almost forgot one of the best bits was the free shuttle which comes every 20 minutes from outside the library, Canada place, Hyatt regency and blue horizon hotel. This was very useful for getting there and back.

I realize that this attraction is not aimed at people who hike, or even walk outside often. Instead, it's a "nature light" experience for people who come on tour busses or want to see some nice trees without having to get their shoes muddy or accidentally walking off the boardwalk into bear country. The warning signs will definitely teach you that coming in direct contact with nature is a scary proposition.
But, c'mon, the prices they charge for this experience are just extortion. We were able to find some (slightly) discounted tickets 3 days in advance online, which meant my wife and I eeked out at just under a hundred dollars for admission, but then we got nailed with the mandatory 3 hour parking fee upon arrival. How someone could legit spend three hours there is another puzzling question. Maybe if they're eating nineteen dollar hamburgers at the snack bar (NOT exaggerating) or shopping at the massive overpriced gift shop.
So, what is the attraction like? A short boardwalk hiking trail, a cliffside walk (the highlight, honestly) and the suspension bridge itself which overlooks... Um... A river. Well, to be fair it's a river and some crappy condo/apartment complex. You'd think there might be an incredible waterfall or something under the bridge, but there really isn't beyond some artificial water features that cascade into artificial ponds.
So, anyway, if you meet the criteria in the first paragraph, feel free to give this company your hard-earned money. For everyone else, just keep driving a bit further down the road to Lynn Creek. It's completely free (except for cheap parking if you want to park directly at the trailhead), you're allowed to walk past the boardwalks, and the suspension bridge and waterfalls are stunning.

Thousands of people ( think Disneyworld lines on thanksgiving holiday ) OMG the amount of people in this park on the night we visited completely spoiled the whole ambience of the place. Sadly profits before people and safety.
So disapointed as we were really looking forward to it but the huge crowds and wait times just killed it for us. My advice is if you want to visit during the hoildays go in the afternoon 2pm and leave on dusk probably beat the bulk of the crowds that way.

We did not buy a tour for this excursion. We bought a daypass ticket to use on the bus from our hotel, seabus across to Lonsdale quay and from there we took the local bus to the Capilano. We were going to visit Lynn Valley canyon but it was closed for renovations. If you plan early enough you could also get in grosse mountain.
We had a great time at Capilano, wear good walking shoes as you will be climbing up stairs, down stairs and across bridges. The trees were very tall, so you can imagine how high you have to get. Love the place, will visit again as it was winter when I was there.

We caught the complimentary bus from downtown Vancouver and enjoyed a couple of hours in the park.
The tickets were expensive but we were able to get a BC concession for free future visits in the next 12 months.
We visited during the week which means that there were fewer visitors in the park. I can imagine that it all gets a little crazy with lots of visitors on the bridge and sky walks at the weekends.
Definitely a 'must do' experience.

Visited the Canyon Lights at the park and was approx 4pm when arrived. It was already getting dark and while the lights are very nice I regret visiting earlier in the day to see the canyon and forest in the daylight. The park was very busy so there was restricted movement around the walks as people stopped or blocked the pathway. Still enjoyable to visit but definitely recommend seeing during daylight over the evening for the canyon lights.
Definitely take advantage of the free shuttle bus and buying your tickets online versus at the park.

This place is amazing. We came in February so very limited visitors and basically had the place for our self.
Excellent walk in the three tops.
The guide Mathias was super friendly and helpful. Even had luck to spot the bald eagle!

It may seem a bit expensive, but the Canyon Lights really are worth it! We went in the new year, after Christmas, but the holiday vibe is still very much present. Loved the tree top walk, the informative interpretative panels, and the magical lights above the trout pond. I'd love to go back to see the forest during the daytime and when the lights are gone, too!

There are 3 main attractions and some minor walks. The BIG one of course is the suspension bridge. It is long but fill of people. Some stopped for pictures and taking selfies so the line didn’t move. It is way too crowded.
2nd is the Tree top walk where you walk up a flight of stairs and walk way up high from tree to tree. That wasn’t too crowded and quite interesting. The last attraction is the cliff walk and that is quite pleasant but to pay around $65.00 for that is way too much. ( if you book online it is a few dollars cheaper . around $65.00 is the price at the gate ). It is a bit touristy and a feel of an amusement park rather than a nature park. There were a lot of pumpkins and skeleton for halloween . There were a couple of ladies, one with a falcon and one with an owl . They talked about these birds with a few gawkers in front of them. Pictures taking are free . The facility is very clean however. We walked every square inch and was done in 1.5 hours with plenty of time of taking videos and pictures, taking bathroom breaks. So for a family of 4, for example you are staring down $260.00 just for entrance fee. ( granted there is discount of like $5.00 for anyone over 65 ) . We took the bus there so I am not sure if we have to pay for parking .
One thing I like is the time entry to control crowd. It can get really crowded on the suspension bridge. The river below is nothing worth spending a few second for though because it has almost no water and rocky.
We went to Whistler and we crossed at least 4 suspension bridges , smaller ones though but free.
In my opinion, this gate should be tore down. Make it a family park for everyone and not the rich. Don’t charge any admission and free parking so everyone can enjoy it. Why turn this lovely location into an amusement park. Nature is for everyone and we should love and protect it.

Confirming the previous answer that yes, you can buy tickets at the gate. That said, if the park is full, you may need to wait for some people to leave.

Our time slot to visit is at 11am on the last Saturday of May. Will there still be a parking spot available at that time? Kindly advise on where best to park during the busiest time. Thanks.

They have paid parking across the street from the entrance. It might be full at that time. I believe they run free shuttles from different hotels in Vancouver so that might be the best way to do it. Check their website for shuttle info.

Is there still a shuttle from the port area or hotels to Capilano? We will be disembarking from a cruise and want to visit the suspension bridge area and stay the night but understand there is no Uber or Lift. What are the other transportation options? TIA

The bridge rocks when there are many people walking on it. Best to go in spring or fall when less crowded. I am 72 and found holding onto the sides with both hands made the crossing easier
