A friend and I had less than 2 hours to explore Steveston. We chose to spend our available time at this interesting historical site, and we enjoyed the visit. Although, another time I would try to allow a little longer to be able to have enough time to watch all the informative videos and examine exhibits more thoroughly.

Steveston has two excellent big attractions that you must see...one anchors the west side of the village ( the Strait of Georgia cannery museum) and the other anchors the east side of the village ( the Britannia shipyards heritage Boardwalk and buildings ). Both are fantastic to visit...this particular one is free though and worth a visit if time and... More

Interesting bit of Canadian history lies here under many layers of old and not so old wood. The old homes are really interesting as one gets the perfect idea of how those folks lived and worked in those days. The huge fish canning industry seemed bulletproof at the time and its demise just goes to show that everything in business... More

We downloaded the app that the city of Richmond recommended before we got there, but it did't work. The Murakami house and the Chinese Bunkhouse were closed, so we didn't have much to see. It was a disappointing visit. The city should post their notice when the buildings are closed.

I stumbled upon this place totally by accident, but have returned several times since. The Fraser river has a rich history, and there is lots for you to learn.

A great place to relax on a warm summer day and walk along the banks of the Fraser River. Turn of the century cannery preserved from the days when Steveston was a major fishing port.

Original shipyard. Well preserved. Interesting to stroll through early times of early homes and boat house.

After a great coffee in Steveston Village walk out on to the dyke path in the easterly direction and take a leisurely 10 minute walk to Britania where you'll experience the lives of the early Japanese and Chinese migrants who laboured in the fish plants and on the boats. Walk in and out of small wooden buildings which housed the... More

We enjoyed a walk through the historic site even though we were only able to walk along the boardwalk and look at the buildings. I'd come back another time in season to see the whole exhibit in more detail, when in town.

Don't miss this beautiful walk on a weathered wooden boardwalk, a reedy marsh nearby, with beautifully restored shipyards that hold wooden boats being restored, tools, helm-making equipment, and views of the slow, wide, green Fraser. This is a beautiful attraction only a 10 minutes stroll from the main village.
