The museum was superb, but, unfortunately, the aviation area was not open when we visited. The different exhibitions while repetitive at times, gave lots of information and being older allowed me to relive parts of my own life.

My husband picked this while we were in Auckland for the weekend. It was fantastic, our daughter is 12 and we all throughly enjoyed it. No crowds and heaps to do and see, great experiences and learnings for our daughter. Fabulous memories here, Enjoy

Spent a rainy morning midweek checking out this amazing museum with a local friend. There is a little bit of everything to see here, from the old Pumphouse, transport section, fantastic section of technology through the ages, trams and old old village. Thats in MOTAT...More

The MOTAT is a great museum to spend 1-3 hours at. Plan more time the more into transportation you are. From steam engines to cars planes tractors trams and trains. They have it all. As well as some old rotary phones with working switchboards.

Motat has updated many exhibits since a previous visit in 2012. It has a new Boeing experience exhibit that is fun and future focused. There is a revised class auditorium area that looks like it would be great for school groups. But I went on...More

Motat is set up really well so you can get everything done. The Above and Beyond Boeing exhibition was very interactive and has activities both for adults and children. The trams come on time every 15 minutes which is great. The aircraft hanger is also...More

I take grandchildren to MOTAT every year or so and would rate about 2/5 however, this museum has improved dramatically since we last visited. Some of the exhibits at the Transport centre were positively gleaming, and the interactive Aerospace and Innovation exhibitions are excellent and...More
