Peaceful and quiet, this hill has a very nice view of all of Devonport, and the city too. Great for tourists, an amazing place to go with family. There is a road going up, so you can drive up, or just walk up as there is a path going up and stairs. Very nice.

Really interesting area with great views across to the city. You can drive up to the top if you don't fancy the walk. There's lots of old defences up there, even one of the old guns that would have been used to protect the port. The small vents from the underground bunkers that stick out above ground are painted like... More

Walked up this mountain today. We took the side walk which got pretty scary and narrow but was probably physically easier than the road (took the road back downhill). Took me about 10-15 minutes with stops and my average fitness levels. Breathtaking views of the harbour and city and surrounding area. A must do. Only a short ferry from Auckland... More

I have been up mount Victoria dozens of times and I still enjoy as much as I did when I first went up. There is lots of potential for absolutely great photos!

ONe of the best views of auckland. I think my mum liked this one the best over mt eden, one tree hill etc. It was also very lovely and scenic on the walk up to the top. NOt too tiring, enough to make you puff a little. I was able to do it and I'm terribly unfit in about 20minutes,... More

Walking up is quite the workout! Fantastic views, especially looking back towards the city centre. It is also possible to drive up and there's a carpark at the top.

This is an excellent place to get a 360 view over the Harbour around Auckland. Many of the islands are clearly visible and you can see over to the city and the wharf area with the tower and the hills surrounding the city in the background. There is some interesting history recorded on the plaques at the top. It is... More

Not sure why this is listed as Mount Victoria because the park is actually called Maungauika, or Uika's Mountain. Buses can't drive up the private street to the park road but cars can park at the top. However it's a short and fairly easy climb around the volcano sides to the top with great views 360 degrees. There are still... More

Walk up from the Devonport township, great vistas of the city, Rangitoto and the North Shore. Interesting to read about the history of the gun emplacement. Walk is a bit steep in parts, but views are worth it!
