If you are looking at traditional and liking traditional cuisine and food. Do drop by Don wai floating market.
Great selection of choices for fruits and local dessert . Very traditional . You would love it there and the drive is less then 1 hour 30 mins .
The stall spacing has change and bigger walking area .

This is definitely not a tourist-trap market!! We went on a Tuesday morning and we were the only Westerners we saw in the few hours we were there. It's fascinating and gave us a glimpse into a world you will hardly see anywhere else.
An odd side note--there was a dead body being pulled from the river while we were there. We weren't sure what to make of the entirely nonchalant way the local bystanders seemed to take this in. It kind of made us lose our appetite so we didn't end up eating at any of the vendors. I would assume this was an unusual event, although no one seemed particularly concerned about it. At any rate....it was just one more thing to make this an expedition unlike any other we've taken.

Food, food, food ! The Wat is very nice and just behind there is an extensive food market - like Alice's restaurant, you can get anything you want. We walked a little bit and then took a very relaxing ride on the river. It was a nice time just to rest and look at local houses on the river, occasionally being passed by a few jet ski riders and boats. We stopped at another Wat along the way and bought coconut drinks - so refreshing. Many of the people/families brought their own lunches and had a sort of picnic on the boat. When we returned to the market, we bought terrific and delicious food to take home. We went on a Sunday and it only somewhat crowded - not enough to dampen the moment. It is a nice break from the larger tourist markets and probably more enjoyable.

Walking the market with the friendly vendors was a pleasure ... all types of food some recognisable some not. All the ones I tried were great .... feeding the huge fish in the river with loaves of bread was a highlight .... feeding the ducks will never be the same again.. well worth a couple of hours visit

This is a totally fascinating place, by the river as the name suggests. Walking the covered lanes of mainly stalls, one wonders how much food people can eat. The competion to buy or sell between stalls is fairly intense, but very calm and friendly. At one end the market is adjacent to a school and temple which seemed to double as a flower market on our weekend visit too!

Extremely crowded and full of local visitors but with very delicious range of food and local culture. Navigating the very narrow wooden plank aisle with low ceiling will be a tortuous but the delicious, extensive range of food treats and local fare will make up for it.

Okay its is a local market where you can buy cheap thing like clothes and souvenirs. Also nice to try Thai food for real. Don`t forget to buy Thai Sweets there are many and very good indeed.
The place is very tight and hot but nice to live like locals. Avoid weekends because too much crowded and don`t forget to ride the boat its a nice journey and relaxing.
Also if you got kids you may feed the fish, so much fun for them.
Kindly if you like my review, please click on helpful. Thank you

The market is super crownded in the weekend. Coming during weekday is much more comfortable. The duck noodle here is good. I recommend "Nai-Nub" duck noodle which is located almost the end of the market walk way.

Many tasety foods, variety fresh fruits, vegetables. You can also enjoy short trip sailing along the Nakornchaisri river to see the traditional house along both side of the river. You can see the vegetable vendors sailing along the river selling local farm fresh fruit and more.

This market is not much different from any other thai market apart from the lack of westerners! During our time there I was the only westerners walking around that we could see, with that in mind very few vendors spoke much English.
A lot of stalls selling everything from cherries, to macadamia nuts to spices and clothes, everything you would see on any other market will be found here. Walking around is easy as the land is concrete so would also be suitable for wheelchairs or buggys.
Along the river is lined with thai restaurants selling thai food not catered for a westerners pallet, nor will you find an english menu so be prepared to use a translation app or point to the foods you would like to order (unless you can speak thai) the restaurant we choose had nice tasty food that came well presented and a good portion size too! Restaurants open 07:00 to 17:00 but I think some of the fruit/toys/clothes stalls stay open until 18:00. There are old farmers that also come around in their boats to sell their hard worked vegetables or fruits so try get a riverside seat so you can buy a few bits from them!
If you are in the area and want a non westernised Thai market then this is the place!!
