This is a place which will win your heart if your are interested in a sect of Hinduism called Vaishnavaites, whose main initiator was Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the great Hindu sage, more than 500 years ago !
Nothing much to do apart from visiting this pilgrimage site.
The tranquil serenity of the place will make your inside calm and spiritual

Historical & sweet memorial place of Hindu holy man Sri Gouranga ! Iscon temple is not the ultimate thing there ! Here 1) birthplace 2) khol-vanga 3) 24-Head top temple, alike Vrindaban & many other ancient places & temples. Please go for a thorough visit of Mayapur & Nabadwip for 2/3 days, ask veterans there. In Katwa there are some interesting places regarding Sri Chaitanya dev.

I really like this temple compound. It contains many historical sites and even has a replica of the main features of Vrindavan, the birthplace of Lord Krishna.

You won't find the sort of warm mood of the ISKCON temple, or as much life, but it is a very special place to visit.

Birth place of Nimai (Sri Chitanya Mahaprbhu) or Gourang Mahaprabhu is really a must visit place. Here we found that NEEM Tree, which have given shelter as well as his name to Mhaprabhu (Nimai). Very peaceful and inspiring place.

During my year end trip to West Bengal along with parents, we got to visit ISKCON at Mayapur, after the dharshan of Radha Madhava, got to visit Sri Chaitanya Math.

This was the head of all Gaudiya Mutts all over the world. A tribute for Sri Chaitanya Maha Prabhu, when we visited the Shrine was not opened. So we spent some time there and started. Tranquil atmosphere..

It is dedicated to Radha Govinda and comprises four altars devoted to the Vaishnava acharyas namely Sri Madhavacharya, Sri Ramanujacharya, Sri Vishnuswami and Sri Nimbarka. The founder credits shall go to the Acharya of the Gaudiya Math, namely Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Maharaja.

The place has a historical significance and Religious importance.
This is the Birthplace of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
You can use a local transport to pay a visit to this Holy place if you are put up in ISKCON Mayapur.
There is a saying among local people that people who have done some good deeds in past lives get the opportunity to touch the blessed soil of the tree under which Gouranga mahaprabhu was born.
Overall well maintained and peaceful abode.
