Bekal fort is a very scenic fort and the most popular tourist destination in Kasaragod. It is a massive structure and is well maintained by the ASI. The fort offers spectacular view of the Arabian sea and sight of sunset from the fort is breathtaking. Its best to visit in the evenings. Overall, a must visit place in Kasaragod.

The fort is well connected with the local transport and can be reached by taking a local bus from Kasaragod . There is not much left to see from the historical point of view but this place is surely going to blow your mind when it comes to the views it offers . The fort offers some magnificent views of... Bekal Fort is in Kasargod District of Kerala. It is situated 68 kms from Mangaluru and 78 Kms from Kannur. Very beautiful fort. Very well maintained. Very Scenic with the sea and beach view on one side and coconut palms and vegetation on other. There are many resorts closeby with good rates. Plenty of seafood available. Entrance fee Rs 15... The Bekal fort offers some excellent views of the sea. It's a quick 40-45 minute stroll at a nominal entrance fee of Rs.15/-. One area requires a near-45-degree steep climb. But offers some good views at the top. Avoid hot days - it just isn't enjoyable with the sun beating you down and sub-optimal sea breeze.

This is the highlight of Bekal. The fort is well maintained. Entry fee is 25 Rs per head for Indian nationals and 200 Rs per head for others. The fort is huge with nice gardens inside and amazing views of the sea and Bekal beach.

An interesting Fort and worth seeing. It will probably take about an hour to walk around and see it all. You can take longer and walk around the path on the outside overlooking the sea. It is hot and humid but there are drinks and ice creams on sale. The ice creams were fantastic. Parking is also easy with the... More

Bekal something you do not want to miss if you are the northern district of Kerala, Kasaragod. As per history Shivappa Nayaka of Bednore constructed the Bekal Fort in 1650 CE, dring the Perumal Age Bekal was a part of Mahodayapuram. Following the political decline of Mahodayapuram Perumals by the 12th century AD, North Kerala including Bekal, came under the... More

We have been to many forts but this one took us by surprise as it was a huge one, almost in 40 acre area & quite big. We went around the place and loved the view of the sea. Inspite of being old it is still well maintained and is a great heritage. The views are breath taking and one... More
