- Anna VBarcelona, Spain75 contributionsEssential museum, out of the ordinaryWe visited the museum and, in addition to the fact that all the employees were very friendly, we found the museum spectacular. Very interesting, very enjoyable and everything is very well explained. In addition to explaining the entire process and history of wine, with many antique utensils and machines, the museum ends with a magnificent collection of corkscrews and art objects. Spectacular.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 12 February 2024
- Ana DPaysandu, Uruguay901 contributionsExcellent guided tour of the museumThe guided tour was conducted by a young winemaker who demonstrated her passion and extensive knowledge not only of the museum but of all wine production. The museum is very interesting, it even has a section dedicated to art in relation to wine with high-level works. The tasting is simple since it is just one wine.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 6 June 2024
- dvid007104 contributionsNecessary visitWe packed a winery, restaurant and museum The visit to the winery was good, good explanations from Eduardo. The tasting could be improved, one more wine would be appropriate. The food in the restaurant is good, with the correct quantities and good material. The views are magnificent. The museum…simply exceptional!!!Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 17 June 2024
- Sandro582 contributionsEngaging and high-level experienceWinery that offers visitors a 360° experience, modern and engaging. From the classic tasting, to a very rich museum that collects all the history and wine art, including the local one. Then coffee maker and winery, restaurant, panoramic terrace, visit to the vineyard and cellars, garden, shop .. all well maintained and level. I also recommend excursion to the small and authentic village of Briones, not far from the farm.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 July 2024

Matilda took us through the winery which is absolutely breathtaking! We loved every minute and the tasting of their lovely wines was exceptional 🍷 We had lunch taking in the views from outdoors and then discovered the museum! What an amazing collection, so lucky that the family has it on display in the most stunning setting. We spent 5 hours there in total and could have stayed even longer 🍷 This is a must do for any wine lover!Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 August 2024

We really enjoyed the wine museum here. Although all the signs around the museum are in Spanish there is a free app that you can download that gives an audio guide in other languages including English. We really enjoyed learning how wine was made and then seeing the collections including the 3000 corkscrews! At €17 per adult for entry it is quite expensive, and unfortunately they had no winery tours in English so we couldn’t get the combination ticket of museum with a tour (which I think would be better value). But overall definitely worth a visit if you are a wine enthusiast! It is an extensive museum and took us over 2 hours to tour it, using the audio guide.

Vivanco is a great place to visit for anyone interested in wines. We spent about half a day exploring the site and the town of Briones. Vivanco has a large wine museum (great for a rainy day), vineyards, shop and cafe - everything was clean, well presented and interesting. Download the app for an audio guide in English as there is no English in the museum itself but this wasn’t an issue when using the app. Overall a great place to visit if you are staying nearby.

Read positive reviews about this well regarded facility, which is certainly just that. Selected a museum tour and a wine tasting. The museum is multiple levels covering the history of wine making. Wine enthusiasts can easily spend 2-3 hours given the range of artifacts, excellent videos and displays. There are some wine-related art pieces. What struck me was the devotion to wine and investment in sharing the wine culture with others. There is an audio guide with narrative text or audio. After the tour we had a wine tasting in the wine store. Unfortunately, the wine was not impressive. There is a cafeteria with outdoor seating and panoramic views. This was a short drive from Haro and worth it for the museum visit.

The museum, winery and vineyards of Vivanco are truly spectacular. Starting with that majestic entrance when you arrive at the place, then the beautiful views of its vines and the surroundings. Our guide Matilde took us on this great tour to see the winery, the art that is manifested at all times from the ceiling with details in wood work forming leaves of the vineyards. The wine cathedral left me speechless, this winery is truly beautiful and its staff is very friendly and helpful. The museum truly deserves the title of being the most comprehensive wine museum in the world. It has interactive activities that allow us to learn more about the world of wine. Everyone who visits Haro should visit this winery and it is only 15 minutes away by car. We went by taxi 🚕, very economical. Congratulations Vivanco for the excellent work you have done. Thank you Matilde for your excellent presentation of this winery. Great professional who knows what he does very well. Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷!!!🍷💯.

The museum is worth visiting, although if you don't book the guided tour it is very boring, the winery doesn't look like a winery, there are many better ones in the area and much more interesting, and the price seems totally excessive to me because the wine tasting is very painful. And also they only put a few bread slices, which if you are educated like me you won't even try them. But the store is spectacular and the wine wonderful.

Excellent museum taking you through the history and process of wine making. Audio guide in English can be downloaded. Collection of over 3000 corkscrews is quirky and fascinating. Very smart and slick operation. Expensive at 17 Euros but worth it

Winery + Museum: Highly recommended.
After several days in Haro, we visited a winery with classic wine production and Vivanco, with more large-scale production.
We really liked the visit to the winery, but especially the WINE museum,
Recognized as the best in Europe, in its 5 rooms, it aims to trace the history of wine.
We loved it...
The tasting, it is true, was commercial, but we really liked the wine... we will return

A friend from Spain recommended us to visit Bodegas Vivanco during our road trip through La Rioja, we had an amazing experience, not only the winery is absolutely beautiful in a gorgeous landscape, but their experience is unique. We did the tasting menu at their restaurant, then had time to visit their Wine Museum and closed with the winery tour and tasting. The entire experience was fantastic, the tasting menu was exquisite, the ambiance in the restaurant and the service were excellent; the museum is large, they have a lot to see, we regret that we did not have enough time to see it all in detail; and finally the tour and the tasting were really good, we had not known their wines, before this visit, and they are incredible, we wish they were easier to find in the US, we have not found them here.

We have spent some extraordinary hours in this place, after visiting the beautiful town of Briones where it is located.
I had booked a visit to the museum, the winery with tasting and food. It is a place to go ready to let yourself be carried away by your senses and ENJOY. We coincide in harvest time and with unbeatable weather. We sat in the garden waiting for the guide, while we watched the trucks arrive with the grapes. The visit to the winery was very complete, the tasting was a little fair because we tried two wines from all the variety they have, and I didn't understand the whole bread sticks thing. Still, we bought several bottles.
We liked the food with a local menu and its aged wine. Everything was delicious, very varied, plated with great taste, and the attention of the waiters and the maitre'd was outstanding. The views of the vineyards again, a luxury.
After the meal, we put the finishing touch with its wine museum, they say it is the best in the world, and I suppose rightly so, for all the collections it houses and the care with which even the smallest detail has been taken care of.
No one should leave La Rioja without visiting it...

Our second visit to Vivanco was fabulously enjoyable thanks to our bodega guide Eduardo. We had selected the bodega/museum/lunch/tasting experience and he was our guide for the most informative tour we have ever experienced. (And we have done a few in our time!) I cannot praise him highly enough. The tasting comprised the red crianza and reserva, both excellent, and was accompanied by more fascinating information from Eduardo. We had lunch, then spent an hour in the amazing museum - could have spent the whole day - it is truly comprehensive. Anyone in this area must visit Vivanco!

Hi Everyone,
If you have been to the Vivanco winery in Rioja - did you stay in Logrono and how did you get to the winery from there/what was the cost?
We are fining the tours over priced and are looking for alternatives for Sept 2018.
Thanks
