This Royal Estate, the country home of the Royal family in Norfolk, is magnificent. It is really worth a visit; most people probably only think of going to Buckingham Palace, etc. but besides the beauty, this is a real insight into the family and how...More

Extremely disappointing! On arrival at Sandringham Estate we visited the Restaurant (large shed/canteen) in the car park to collect our entrance tickets to the house. At this point we were told that this was where we would be having our afternoon tea...my heart sank! The...More

A lovely day out can be had at Sandringham House. The car park is large, the walks are very enjoyable and the cafes and restaurant well priced. Paying to visit the house, museum and/or walled garden is worth it. The rooms open to the public...More

Sandringham has plenty of open space. The vast areas of grassland were no more but simply dead straw because of the drought. There is a small formal garden that is quite nice but what had been many flower beds have long been abandoned. Only their...More

It seems odd that a road cuts through the Sandringham Estate, but I guess that's a matter of history. We visited primarily to see the house and the church, but there is lots to see and do in the wider estate and the car park...More

Visited today with my friend and grandchildren - first visit since our own children were small - although we live in Norfolk it’s a bit of an effort. However we will certainly be making that effort after today! Lovely imaginative play area and fantastic walks...More

Lovely walking through the woods, on a wet Autumn day, collecting fallen Sweet Chestnuts. You have to be quick before the squirrels get them. Even better then roasting them, for an afternoon treat. Abbey loved the forage.

There are many aristocratic estates in Norfolk, you will pay to just walk round them. Not here, Sandringham has free parking and where you can wander the grounds and walk your dogs or stretch the kids..there is a wonderful play area. We often just do...More
