About 5 minutes from behind the Harrah's Casino I found the road to trailhead. Trail is very smooth so tennis shoes are fine. Trail meanders up at a very modest incline. Elevation notwithstanding, I would rate beginning of this hike as easy. I saw couples...More

We had been on a portion of this trail before but did a loop using the barn trail, Cal-Neva trail and Van Sickle trail. Spectacular views and well maintained trails. Best to review a map prior to ensure you know where you’re going. Vern though...More

trails were not marked, no guides. not a good place to go for lake views. trails were pretty, so probably good for short walks.

This gem of a park is directly behind and above south shore’s casinos. Hiking trails range from moderate to difficult. Spectacular views of the lake and very peaceful area, considering how close it is to town!

A lovely, relatively easy hike. I started just past mid-afternoon so it was very nice and quiet (the throngs seem to prefer mornings) - in 2 hours, I saw only 3 other pairs of hikers. The trail is clear and easy to follow, and mostly...More

Two good sized car parks that lead to a multitude of trails. Good for hiking with young children. Would recommend going in the morning before the heat gets too much!

This trail is only a five minute walk from the Heavenly Gondola next to the big casino hotels. A good warm up to get used to the elevation if you live closer to sea level. Modest inclines for just over six kilometers where it joins...More

Wonderful hike done this am. Vista amazing. Bear was seen at entrance rooting around old cabins. Went along his merry way while we watched in amazement.

one of the three times we hiked here there was a mention of a possible bear siting.....but we never saw anything. nothing to worry about here. too many people to keep the bears away.
