Amazing views at the summit point. We went there in October, the weather was perfect during fall. Started the hike pretty early in the morning , around 6am , and we completed it at around 3pm. I did it along with a friend, and I...More

go after the snow melts, that way the trail isn't blocked by snow. Go after June, but there may still be a little bit of snow near the top. Great views of 4 or 5 lakes.

Interesting and easy trail to the moint tallac´s summit. The trail is about 10km long (one way), and has no real difficult parts. From the top you can see thelake and other little lakes that are near the place.

The colors of fall mixed in with the evergreens was gorgeous! Just wanted a short hike and stopped at the ridge. Used our backpack chairs and enjoyed snacking, talking, and the view of Lake Tahoe and Fallen Leaf Lake side by side.

We did this trail twice - in the rain (with appropriate rain gear) and on a gorgeous day. What made it extra special was all the features and variety of terrain, views, vegetation.

Mt. Tallac is not an easy climb -- five miles each way with 3,000 foot elevation gain. It takes a full day. But the trail is well groomed and the views from the top are simply grand. It is an annual event for us.

We enjoyed this hike up but it was the second hike of the day and we didn’t plan to do it all. Enjoyed the vista views and walked back down. Great experience and exercise.
