In the off season many tourist areas are closed but you are allowed to park outside the area and walk through. We did that yesterday in Pope Beach. Beautiful grounds and gorgeous views from the waterfront

Pope beach is a nice area to just relax and to get closer to the Lake. Also, it wasn't crowded when we were there.

The beach has no waves so it is great for families with kids because you do not have to worry a lot when the small ones run into the water.

Was less crowded, clean, kids will enjoy. But could be scary as after few feets from shore it's deep as 10+feet.

Pope is an amazing beach! Such a long strand of clear sandy beach and shallow water for swimming and floating. Great for children. Easy parking. Vendors are on site with cold drinks and snacks. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Bathroom are well maintained.
