This park is 15 or 20 kilometers out of Luliang 陆良, but is easily reachable by bus. The bus leaves from the center of town, across from the market, and costs only 4 Yuan. The ride takes about 40 minutes and passes through several interesting small villages.
The park features some bizarre sand sculptures that have been painted and are pretty tacky. But the paths winding around inside the park provide beautiful vistas of the colored cliffs, set back in a largely pine forest. The path is well maintained and takes you to some peaks as well as to some valleys.
The natural beauty of the place is well worth the trouble of coming. Admission costs 50 Yuan. It's better to come in the early morning when it's not so hot. I was there earlier this week in the afternoon and the sun was very bright.
Spent about 2 hours walking around and taking photographs. Quite a few steep stairs, which might be of concern to those of you with bad knees.

This park has an eerie character.
The sculptures are pretty, though unusual.
The natural beauty of the site is impressive, but you hardly see other visitors, some Chinese, non foreign.
The contrast between this site and the naturally colored, green rice fields behind it could not be greater.
The site has all the infrastructure to receive large crowds, but, again, hardly anyone's there.
An unrelated, nice aspect is that ordinary buses are not allowed to approach the site. At the entrance you are requested to transfer to ecological buses that run on gas. This is an upcoming trend throughout China.
