    Super Chef, delicious food
Cooking with Khan was an absolute pleasure. You get to have input on the menu the day before the class, and if you don’t know what to cook, then don’t worry, Khan will make great suggestions. He gives clear instructions and explains why you doing it in a particular way. Khan cooks with beautiful intuition and has a deep knowledge of flavours and ingredients. Everything we made was delicious and although oil is used, each dish was so light and full of the flavour. Whether you are a seasoned cook or can’t boil an egg, you will have a great time and come away with a full belly and recipes to create your very own Kerala feast at home. Do yourself a favour and book a class with this wonderful chef and human being.

To put on your “to do” list in Varkala!
Very nice experience of sharing cuisine with Khan and his family. The dishes are easily reproducible, delicate and without chili! 😁 Nothing to do with what we eat in restaurants. I highly recommend. 3-hour workshop / Tasting at the end.

    Excellent, would highly recommend
Khan is really friendly and helpful. We chose our menu to cook with suggestions from Khan. We spent about 3 hours preparing, cooking and eating the food which was excellent. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to try the recipes at home.

Cooking class in a relaxed atmosphere
We had a wonderful and interesting cooking class at Kahn's home. The dishes we prepared together were simply sensational. Our children were also very welcome and played with Kahn's son and his partner. Afterwards we enjoyed the food in the dining room. Highly recommended!!!

    I'd recommend Khan's Cooking Class with a 10-star
This was a Mother's Day gift from our son to my wife, Sue. And since then she hasn't stopped talking about it, determined to try out what she learned on our next guests. Khan and his wife, Sandra, welcomed us into their home with extreme warmth. Khan has an extremely personable nature, and it's clear right from the start that he knows what he's talking about, having worked in both Indian and Italian kitchens all over the world, plus, I believe, having run his own restaurant. With patience, he led us through a set menu chosen by our son. First on the list was chicken pakora, except this was not like any pakora you've ever tasted. By the time Sue and Khan had finished, with the blend of spices, every bite tasted different. And on top of that we had fried curry leaves to snack on. Then it was on to the main course. Another chicken dish, and a couple of curry dishes, cooked for us by Khan and Sue. Absolutely delicious! So a word of warning; Don't have too big a breakfast before Khan's Cooking Class, because after you've finished your class you'll be eating the absolute best Indian meal you've ever tasted. And once again, this is a really nice family!

Good food and a nice host
This course was incredibly good, with a welcoming and nice host. We were invited into Khan's kitchen and learned how to cook wood dishes, as well as rice and bread. It was a very good experience and the food we made was very good. Warmly recommended.

Great cooking class and very tasty food
We booked a cooking class with Khan fairly last minute but he was very accommodating to our request. We were able to pick what we wanted to cook and Khan also gave some suggestions to guide us. Our menu consisted of Kerala style beef curry with parotta, butter chicken, veg samosas, coconut and coriander chutney and lemon rice. Khan was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about the ingredients used, spices and Indian cooking techniques. The food was some of the best we have had during our month in India. We couldn’t eat it all and were given a takeaway container to save the rest for later. Khan and his family were super friendly and made us feel very welcome in their home. Highly recommend Khan’s cooking class!

Do not hesitate and book this class!
We started our experience the right way with a homemade fresh juice, which was unexpected and very nice. The activity was well structured with all the steps clear and every dish made ready at the same time. Khan was very helpful and patient when teaching the different techniques, including a way to grind coconut by hand ! You can ask suggestions for a varity of recipes that are veg and non-veg. Food was delicious, with fresh ingredients and we even got to take notes in little notebooks he gave us! 10/10 would recommend and would do again! Can't wait to try the recipes at home!

We absolutely loved Khan's cooking class - a truly authentic South Indian cooking experience in Khan's home. His family were so welcoming and kind.

The cooking class was fantastic - Khan gives you the option to tailor the menu to your individual preferences: two curries, 1x appetiser, 1x rice dish. Khan sources all his produce from the local markets and fresh herbs grown from his garden. He was a brilliant teacher and very knowledgeable - we were constantly writing down all his tips and insights. What really shines through is Khan's passion for preparing delicious nourishing food with love. It was a really special experience and we ended up staying even longer chatting away over the dishes we had cooked!

Thank you Khan, Sara and little Zion.

Khan is an ace cook and even better teacher.
He passed on so many tips and techniques handed down from his Kerala mother and grandmother with patience and positive attitude. He was happy to be filmed as an aid-memoir and I look forward learning more dishes. Steve W

It was beautiful time with Khan today. Khan accounted for all our preferences and customised the dishes accordingly. They were vegan (some even raw 🌱), light and healthy. Khan went extra mile and taught us a lot about authentic South Indian dishes.

We cooked 5 dishes: coconut based vegetable curry, Jeera rice, Dal Aloo, Thorn (made of beetroot; local dry curry), Aloo fry. Khan also prepared raw vegan coconut based chutney and gave us some tips how to adapt traditional dishes to whole food plant based lifestyle.

We got so much more than we expected! An extremely nowledgeable chef with diverse versatile experiences. I highly recommend this class to anyone who would like to learn about South Indian cuisine and not only!

It was a great eye opening experience! Thank you for your inspiration Khan! 🙏

We looked for a cooking course very last minute and Khan couldn't have been more helpful. It was a fun 4 hoiurs learning how to make delicious southern Kerela food with lots of chef style tips including making Parotha bread which is a great theatrical experience and lots of fun. The food was fresh and delicious. He provided a notebook for us to write down the recipes which was very handy. Highly recommend.

We had a great time with Khan. He was really generous with the ingredients he got (bearing in mind the course is a flat rate) and we could pick exactly what we wanted to eat. Perfect to take recipes home!! His wife was also really lovely and welcoming!

Our cooking class with Khan was very special. Khan took the time to plan and prepare a class personal to what our favourite food/style of foods had been from our travels around Kerala. The knowledge, patience and care expressed by Khan is truly magical and the food is even better. Khan strives to use the best local produce on offer and won't compromise on quality or freshness to ensure you have a wonderful experience. We walked away from this class feeling very wholesome and excited to put out learnings to the test. The class is a must do in Varkala!

Wow do we recommend this class!

Khan worked in various kitchens for many many years, so he is proficient in making pretty much any dish you can think of.

Most classes we found only offered the classics and the basics like dal, butter chicken, naan etc. We were looking for someone who could teach us some more advanced South Indian specialities that we tried and loved in Kerala.

We asked Khan and he just let us choose any dishes we wanted! We chose Kootu Curry, Mysore Paneer Masala Dosa, Kerala Style Porotta and Beef Curry, Rice and Ghee Payasam, all of which turned out fantastic! 😍

Khan also showed us how to do some hand preparation like extracting coconut flesh and milk from a fresh coconut, preparing and kneeding Porotta dough by hand (both are highly recommended experiences).

Throughout the class Khan was patient and happy to answer all of our questions, and was fun to chat with, as well as his wife Sara, and we were happy to meet his cute baby boy Zion 🙂

Overall I highly recommend this experience, especially if you’re a bit experienced with Indian food and Indian cooking, and are looking for something more than just the basics.

MUST DO when in Varkala. Not only is the food the best we've ate in india Khang and his family are lovely insightful people. We learned so much about food, culture and so much more. Everything was done traditionally and all farm to table. I'm so happy my husband and I did this. When we come back to varkala we will do this again.

Great Kahn, competent and welcoming.
He chose dishes that were easy to replicate once in Italy.
With an excursus on spices he introduced us to the magical world of perfumes of India, and then took action: chutney, Dal fry, bindi masala, dosa, uttapam, pakora...
Nice lesson and really special lunch
Thank you Khan and thank you Sara for the welcome
