The Tasman Great Taste Trail is an easy cycling trail that takes a leisurely tour of Nelson/Tasman's most beautiful coastal and inland areas. Riders will pass vineyards, breweries, orchards and no end of places to stop and enjoy some quality cuisine. As a loop the trail is 174km long, but it can easily be broken down into bite sized portions just right for short morning rides and gentle afternoon cruises. It is one of New Zealand's Great Rides. For more information on the Trail and other off-road and mountain biking trails in Nelson/Tasman check out our website.

We were really looking forward to this ride. Looking at websites they explain it completely different to the actual ride. We started in Nelson and rode to mapua. The first part of the ride through nelson to Richmond was ok. Then it was full on...More

This route is really easy to do and have so many beauty views! I've rented a bike in nelson and biked until motuka, really good with bike paths in almost all the way.

To suggest that the 40k or so from Mapua to Kaiteriteri is part of one of New Zealand's 22 Great Rides is an insult to the Central Otago Rail Trail, the Queen Charlotte Track, et al. Maybe it is just a work in progress and...More

Our 4 day ride was very well organised by Trail Journeys. Accomodation and meals provided were excellent. We were transported over Pigeon hill. 2 of the team did ride it but it would have been too much for the rest of us. 2 members hired...More

We biked the first part from Nelson to Mapua on a sunny, windless morning. This trail is very well made and marked, with information boards about the history of the area. It is almost flat, an easy ride that took us around 2.5 to 3...More

This lovely trail is well marked and connects many fun spots to stop and check out. Some of the spots on the trail are a few km off the bicycle route, though, and that can make for a few kms of harrowing driving on the...More
