This is an old bridge. But still stands strong.just a 5 minute visit is sufficient. So don't plan in extra for it

If u have noticed " Barso re megha megha " song from Guru, you can spot this bridge, Ashwarya rai is riding her bicycle on this old bridge only and in many kannada movies i believe.anyways its so sad that this bride is partially washed away last week due to monsoon flood in the kaveri river.

Given that the tiny town is an island, you'd expect it to have bridges. But many people may not be aware, this feeble-looking bridge across the river is over 200 years old! Good example of the olden structure standing the test of time and worth visiting when you're in the piligrimage area.

Many places in Srirangapatna are named after British people and this is one of them. It's a bridge across river Kaveri. Nice engineering works from older times

The Wellesley Bridge was the oldest road bridge across the Kaveri river at Srirangapatna. Built as per most other bridges of the British era, it is worth seeing from a distance for a minute or so. This bridge is now old and cannot handle heavy traffic seen nowadays, hence, a new bridge was constructed. One can see the old bridge from either the new one or from the Thomas Inman's Dungeon in Srirangapatna Fort.
