Amazing views and walking trails. Keep an eye on the tide and plan your trip across accordingly. Never ever cross when the tide is coming in & never try to cross even if the spit is covered in shallow water.

good place for a picnic lunch with great views. A must to see if you are sightseeing in the Post Stephens area.

We attempted to do the crossing of the spit on dead low tide on a 3/4 moon and there was way too much water coming across from both sides to make the crossing safe. I realise that people will still attempt this crossing but beware!...More

An hour or two spent pleasantly wandering the area, expected a proper lighthouse to be there still, so children were a bit let down by this. There was the marine rescue station staffed by volunteers who were happy to chat and explain to the children...More

If you are in Fingal Bay take the walk along the beach and travel across the spit to the Lighthouse Incredible views and great spot for whale watching

We spent a wonderful hour taking photos and visiting the museum which gave us an insight into the training of troops and history of the lighthouse. Beautiful views and two delightful marine rescue gentlemen who chatted about the amazing job they do in their community....More
