The falls, in the northern half of Yoho park, drop 833 ft -- making it one of the highest waterfalls in Canada. The falls are spectacular in early summer, when melting snow and ice provide ample runoff.

We stopped to see the Falls and the whole surrounding area made it easy to get pictures from all angles. My husband and two of my daughters climbed quite high to get a closer view. They came back soaked but it's a picturesque park that's worth the detour.

After visiting the wonderful Takakkaw Falls which is in the Yoho Valley, we continued along the valley to Laughing Falls. The trail itself is very flat with a rise of about 125 feet. People used a buggy on a portion of the trail. The rushing waters of the river provide a good resting place. The Falls themselves and very close... More

I highly command this trip. This is a very nice fall and views are great. We went there from Lake Ohara and went to Emerald lake after this visit. Highly recommended.

This is a great waterfall. Walking is relatively level. If you can sit in the red adirondack chairs. Gives a great view. This is also a great picnic spot. The road to the falls is challenging as there are switchbacks. If you are driving a camper over 25 feet not a good idea as you will have to back up... More

Very easily available place. A nice drive up from the valley and a very short walk from the parking lot. Well worth a detour. I did it in the evening, where the light come in beautifully and the crowds were gone.

Must see waterfall driving thru Ice Fields parkways!!! One of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. It is a fun windy road to get to it, and is a easy short hike to get to. Take a lot of pictures along the way. You'll be able to see it before you even get to it. It is Canada's... More

Low effort, high return. Fully paved walkway to a spectacular water fall. This easy walk only takes about ten minutes. Pit toilets available at the trailhead.

Takakkaw Falls are well worth the drive from Highway 1. The falls are 380 metres high and stunning to watch. You can walk right up to the base of the falls (and get damp from the mist) and experience the roar of the falling waters. Keep an eye out for the very tight switchback on the drive in to the... Takakkaw Falls is a masterpiece: Impeccably white glacial water spurts from the lower chambers of Mt. Daly and smashes against the cliff crags so furiously that some of the water loops upward before finally cascading into the river below. Waves of mist flutter in all directions like angel wings. The Cree nation called the waterfall Takakkaw, translated as “it is... More

These Falls were lovely to see and the power of the water very dramatic. We enjoyed the winding road to get to the Falls and the gentle walk to them. They are worth the trip.
