Wonderfull walk to the falls, impressive falls, saw orchids near the falls.

There is a parking lot near the start of the walk to the falls. The walk itself is nice and goes through a forest. It is about 2.5km one way. We walked to the bottom of the falls... read more

There is a parking lot near the start of the walk to the falls. The walk itself is nice and goes through a forest. It is about 2.5km one way. We walked to the bottom of the falls and enjoyed the spray and the sound of the falls. Near the shore of the lake down stream of the falls we... More

this place is not appropriate for mobility challenged visitors. the trail is a bare minimum dirt trail over mountainous terrain. the water fall and its environment are so pristine and gorgeous that is worth a little effort to get there. the rocky river bank is great for a picnic, a little bit of hiking, rock picking (even though it's in... The walk to the falls is pretty anti-climactic. I did a somewhat of a scramble trail to get down to the level of the falls, walked a lot closer, thought "Ha, the spray isn't that bad, what was the internet all worked up about", so I turned around to take a selfie and before I could take a picture, I... This is a great easy falls to get to . It was raining heavily for most of the day and the visitor center told us Wapta falls would be a great option and it was . Most of the hike goes thru wooded area and provided great cover during the rains and light drizzle. The falls are located about 1.5-2... More

Long walk for little reward... You walk in the trees for an hour to see a short water falls, which might appeal to you if it's the first and only water falls you see in the Rockies, but, with colorful lakes and water falls everywhere, you might like to skip this one if you're short of time.

Stopped off to view the falls. Reasonably easy walk until you reach the falls. And then the challenging bit begins with a walk down the bank at the side of the falls. Several vantage points along the way. When you reach the bottom you can cross the dry river bed although I would assume at certain times of the year... More

The falls were an easy walk to get to, but the trail was steep in a few places. There are a variety of lookouts both above and below the falls. It will get crowded later in the day, but is a nice walk after it rains. The falls were nice, but not overly impressive.

We parked in the car park and walked to the 1st viewing point, it was raining hard but the trees gave us some shelter, the little bridge was flooded in parts and that was as far as we went as some of the remaining path was slippy.

Not easy to find if you are westbound on Trans Canada Hwy as there are no signs and no left turn to road to the trailhead. Half way between Field & Golden, BC. Use Google to find it. Road is about one mile to trailhead parking lot and washroom. Trail to Wapta Falls starts with nice gravel path and slowly... More

A great little side trip. The road and parking is excellent, with a toilet etc. The hike is quite easy and the views are exceptional, both at the higher lookoff and at the water level.
