It is a very pretty beach with surfers in the seas catching waves. I went there after a hike to the summit of Mt Maunganui. Refreshing!

The Mount is a great place for walks, it takes less than an hour to get around it. Of course you can walk up to the top as well, and has awesome views.
Yes, it was cold, but the fresh breeze was refreshing and bracing - add to this the food vans along the beach = enjoyable
