Visited here during my tour of bosnia during the hostilities and it was beautiful back then and like I say I'd give anything to return here with my family. I'm betting this place is better than ever now. As ive always said bosnia is the most beautiful country I've ever visited and that was even under the difficult circumstances

We stopped and got some amazing pictures here on the way to Croatia. It was worth the path that we drove because we got to enjoy lots of the sights from beautiful Bosnia.

Very nice place to relax and enjoy in nature with children. If you have a car it is very easy to reach this place it is about 5 km from center Jajce. You can find a nice restoran for lunch - don't miss čevapčći with kajmak and onion.
Just near restoran is hotel with nice playground for children or just rent a boat kids wll love it !
The best photos you can take at old water mills so don't skip it.

Pliva lakes are simply the best. You can feel the nature and here you can relax. On the lakes there are restaurants, hotels...It's good place to stop and walk or eat something.

We cycled out from Jajce to see the lakes and watermills. The old watermills are really pictureseque, on the edge of a landscaped park that probably gets quite busy at weekends and further into summer. It looks like there will be a cafe area but this was closed and being renovated when we were there. We went on to the top lake which is beautiful - including numerous dragonflies - with a lakeside hotel and boat trips, excellent for seeing the scenery and watching the wildlife.

Jajce was one of most positive surprises I have had while travelling. It proved ideal for winding down and just relax after some hectic weeks on the road. Everything was relaxed and the locals very friendly. The town itself is not that much, but the lakes are beautiful and gorgeous to swim in as well as boat around. The water is absolutely still and creates as perfect a water mirror as you can get. Very pretty sight with the green and hilly surroundings.
Nearby are the small river water mills, which are a quaint little sight in itself. By the lake there is a small café/restaurant which is nothing unique but can settle your cravings at a very decent price. Here we fell into talk with some friendly locals.
From the main town, it is easy to bike to the lakes, and you can even follow along them for as long as you wish for (very long at least). We ended up coming into the Reppublic Srbska and drinking rakija with some random strangers - so that can only be recommended if you are up for an adventure.

Mesmerizing, tranguil, peaceful environment. Unfortunately we only spent an hour there. I did not want to leave. But we had to gack to Sarajevo. I am thinking of going back there next year, and stay for a week just to absorb the beauty of pure Nature There are old watermills nearby. Just being there gives you a almost mystic experience. Feeling happy and peaceful from head to toe. When I think of the Pliva Lake, I instantly feel happy.

The owner of the place we stayed (Horizont Aparment) drove us here - its not too far to walk but you need to know the road.
Its a relaxing place to spend an afternoon lying in the sun and having a swim.
