The Franciscan Wedding Church celebrates marriage and devotion. Kfar Cana is a Roman Catholic church known as the Wedding Church. Kfar Cana is best-known for its role in the ministry of Jesus. It was as the site of his first miracle. Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding, at the request of his mother. Kfar Cana is about an hour's walk from Nazareth, Jesus' hometown. The Wedding Church is administered by the Franciscan Order. It's a popular place for weddings.

We visited *The Wedding Church* in Cana. It is located in Lower Galilee and ministered by the Franciscans. The church is also a popular venue for weddings. Several earthen jars are displayed in the aisle.

On this site, Jesus performed the miracle of turning water into wine. The host of a banquet ran out of wine. Mary requested Jesus to help with the awkward situation. He asked the servants of the host to fill 6 jars with water. Jesus asked them to pour from the jar to fill the host's cup. Upon tasting, the host declared it a good wine.

Couples can renew their marriage vow in here. We did ours in Canaan.
A Church Certificate was given to us.

Unbelievable feeling as you enter the Cana Catholic Wedding Church and remember all those stories learned in Catholic school.

Impressively beautiful church with what is described as one of the original wine jars stored in the lower level.

Amazing to stand at the spot where so much history has taken place.

Very pretty church. Take note of the base of the altar with grapes carved into it. If you're in the area, it is worth a stop. I did not succumb to purchase wine there, however.

An important tourist destination for Christian pilgrims because here Jesus would have performed the first of his miracles - the transformation of water into wine, at a wedding at which Jesus was invited. The two vessels inside the church are not from the period when Jesus lived. On the right side of the entrance, in a gilded glass, you can find a relic belonging to the groom from that wedding

Wonderfully kept church with 2 century old artifacts. Wonderful to be where the Messiah stood and ministered.

Walking up to this church from the main road, you first had to run the gauntlet of all the traders, drink sellers and souvenir stalls. When arriving at the church, the front courtyard and fascade are impressive; however, inside the church is pretty average. There is a spot where a large container of some sort of situated, and I assume you're supposed to believe that that is one of the vestibules Jesus used in his miracle. Other than that, there didn't appear to any reference to this miracle, nor explanation about what was on this site beforehand to enable you to get a sense of the significance of this site. Nice to say I've been there, but not sure it was worth the effort.

The “wedding church” might be a moving place to visit if you believe that Jesus turned water into wine there, for his first miracle. It is a popular place for couples to renew their vows and we saw a couple get engaged there. If, however, you are not a Believer, then the place is only of moderate historical interest and even less artistic or architectural value. It all depends on your perspective.

Located in the area where Jesus performed his first miracle as a guest at a wedding party. If you renew your wedding vows you can purchase a certificate of your renewal. Lots of little shops around sell wedding wine from Cana that could be a great gift for a young couple getting married back home.

Church build over an ancient ruins of remains of the Roman village of Cana. Nicely taken care by the priest and nuns.
