If you have time, spend two days here. It's one of the most beautiful open art galleries in the world, set in amazingly beautiful surroundings. Compares to the equally brilliant Naoshima Island in Japan. By the way stay close in Brumaldinho and if you are getting the bus from Rio to Belo Horizonte you will miss the connecting bus to... This place is a unique combination of art and nature. The park, the galleries, and the artwork in them combine in a truly jaw-dropping experience. This place should be on everyone's bucket list! We spent 2 long days exploring, pondering, and being totally amazed at the natural beauty. We could have easily spent a week here.

How come this is not in the Eyewitness Guide to Brazil from 2012? It's the best kept of secrets. This is a paradise for lovers of contemporary art and/or sub-tropical gardens. Check out the website. It's true that it's well off the beaten track- you fly in to Belo Horizonte and then face hiring a car (Hertz was very inefficient,... More

To see all the art galleries and the main part of the park you definitely need 2 full days. It’s recommendable to buy a 2 day "passport" via internet in advance. You can get it with a small discount and you can collect it at the reception of the park. You have to go to the booth saying `friends of... More

I used to think Inhotim was just a nice open-air museum. But what made the greatest impact on me was the amazing, top of the art landscaping. This is a place where you can go many times and still be surprised. You'll need two days to visit. Go to the central ones on the first day, and buy an internal... More

I learned about his magical place through my own artsy internet investigations. Having family in the state of Alagoas, Brasil that I visit every 2-3 years, I vowed to find a way to visit Inhotim. I was suprised to learn that many Brasilians have not even heard of Inhotim. So, I took my daughter (a Brasilian resident) and flew from... More

What a place... can't say in words or pictures, you must go there and see it. Usually is very crowd on weekends and holidays, we were lucky because it was raining s lot in Belo Horizonte but not in Inhotim, so the place was almost empty. Ask for the golf cart when you by your ticket it is worth. Specially... More

I had been told that it was worth making the trip from Belo Horizonte to Inhotim but I had no idea it was going to be quite so spectacular. I shared an Uber with two people from my hostel. Total cost 105R each way. Time taken 1:15 each way. Set in 500,000 acres of picture postcard countryside are 23 galleries,... More

If there were the possibility of awarding "Above excellent" at Trip Advisor, Inhotim for sure would deserve it. Never seen anything like it. Ok, if you don't care for art and nature, it's not your piece of cake. Otherwise... gorgeous landscape, carefully planned so nature would not only beautify art galleries but actively dialogue with them. Great contemporary art galleries... More
