It was interesting to visit this city where 33% of the people are over 100 years of age. However, it was not with the 10 hour car trip from Guilin to come here. Most of the attractions are smaller compared to Yangshuo and Longsheng. If...More
I know there are packaged tours, but I left my apartment in Nanning and found the bus station. A luxury bus took me to Bama. If you have never been on a luxury bus they have two big comfortable chairs on one side and one...More
A village where the people live to a ripe old age about 103 years old. Not much to see except that the villagers are lazing around or gambling along the roadside. Quite dusty and dirty. Food is not covered but exposed.
We had a great time exploring the eccentric village. We found some villagers putting a cobra into a large container of vodka for arthritic medicine. Visited with the elderly. Shared chocolate with the children.

Dear traveller, 1) from the Nanning airport, you can take a Long distance Bus which costs RMB 130 to Bama Bus station. The timings if I don't remember wrongly are 12.20pm, 2.20pm and 5pm. But you can check again at the Ticket counter. The bus journey to Bama is 4.5 hours on average. However they are building an expressway which will shorten the journey by half... 2) You can choose to stay in Jiangping village which is about 30mins to 45 mins car ride away from Bama Bus Station. I have a few listings on Airbnb... Although it will not be a homestay, you can get to experience village life. 3) I went to Bama for a week which felt just nice to me for a relaxing trip since the Travelling took a while. Attractions to visit are definitely crystal palace cave and Bai mo cave.
