We took two tours with White Sand, booked through our hotel. We had a great experience with Captain Jefferson on the Bio Bay tour and with Captain Christopher on the Stingray City tour. Both were knowledgeable and capable mariners. Highly highly recommend.
If you are staying in the East End, book with White Sand who sail out of Kaibo Yacht club … easy commute to the marina without the hassle of driving into Georgetown and all the related traffic.

It was fun, personable and simply a great way to experience Stingray Alley. Loved that the boat is smaller and not a massive trip with lots of people. Chris was great with everyone on the boat — making sure people were comfortable and got what they wanted out of the experience.
Snorkeling the reef near by was also amazing.
We went at 7am and there was our group of 15 people and a boat with 4 others — amazing!! HIGHLY recommend!!!

An experience we will never forget. The absolute best humans running this tour. So friendly. My wife is nervous in the water and they made her feel completely at ease. The way they interacted with the stingrays was beautiful. Could not recommend more.

Jefferson took us on both the Bioluminescent tour and the Stingray City tour on two consecutive days. He is kind, friendly and a great captain. He shared lots of information about the area, the animals, and some history. He was respectful of the environment and the creatures we met. The bioluminescent algae snorkel experience was like swimming in the stars. At Stingray City, we had 30+ stingrays of various sizes gently mobbing us for food... we had a chance to feed and pet them, and dive for shells. We also snorkeled around some coral, where we saw a variety of fish and turtles. Jefferson had all the equipment we needed, plus slides on the boat! I highly recommend Jefferson and White Sand.

Jefferson was our captain for both trips and he was wonderful. Not only did he proficiently captain the boat but he focused on safety, ecological points, and fun facts while also making us laugh. The Bioluminescence tour was in calm water at night. The pontoon boat had two slides which the children on board utilized to their delight. Quite an awesome sight and got some nice photos in night mode. Jefferson also made two other stops to teach us about starfish and "lazy" jellyfish (see photo.) The next day he was our captain again for a trip to Stingray City and a snorkeling reef. Once again, it was an opportunity for him to teach us. It was really enjoyable feeding and holding the stingrays while juvenile ones swam around the bottom kind of petting our legs.

During our recent family trip to Grand Cayman we chartered boats for a Bioluminescence Cruise and for a trip to Sting Ray City/Snorkel Trip. Both were great experiences. If you are traveling with a group of 9 or more, don't book one of the standard trips, charter a boat. Reasonable cost, personal service. Our family loved it.

Our stringray/snorkelling trip with White Sand was amazing. We’ve been before with other companies in the past but this was by far the best one yet. Captain Chris is an extremely knowledgeable guide and really entertaining. Both adults and kids had a great time. The whole vibe of the trip was “afternoon on a friend’s boat”, instead of “numbered guest on a tour boat.”

We had an amazing experience during the Bioluminescent Bay Tour!
We stopped first at starfish point and our captain taught us so much about them! The next stop was with the jellyfish and we also learned so much there. The highlight definitely was Bioluminescent Bay! Our captain got in the water and demonstrated the beauty. Our daughter and another person got off the boat and swam while others took photos. There were 10 people on our trip so it was very nice and not crowded.

We went on both the lumenesemce tour and the sting ray/snorkeling tour. Our captain Chris was wonderful and answered all our questions. He got in the water with us on the sting ray tour. Both tours had 10 or less people. Each tour was great. I would recommend both of these tours...Will and Dona Givens

If you’re staying on the island and thinking about a trip to Stingray City, do the 7 am tour with Captain Chris! You’ll beat the crowds and have the stingrays all to yourself. It makes for an early morning (and do be sure to be on time!) but it’s a great start to the day and totally worth it! Plus the espresso shop at Kaibo has good coffee, fresh baked croissants, and friendly staff waiting for you when you return.
Getting to snorkel with and feed these beautiful and gentle sea creatures is definitely one of the top ten coolest things I’ve ever done. Follow Captain Chris’ instructions and you’ll lose all apprehension/fear of getting in the water with stingrays.
Booking the tour online was easy and the staff was incredibly communicative, especially in their willingness to flex in the case of rough water/bad weather conditions. We stayed at one of the properties nearby in the East End and they even dropped off snorkel gear for us so we could get in the water right away.

Hi Robin - regarding the bioluminescense tour with White Sands in the Grand Cayman, where did you meet for the tour?

Good afternoon,
After reviewing your website I see that most tours are geared around cruise ship times to avoid crowds. Do you have any tours available to cruise ship passengers looking for a more personal experience apart from what the ship offers?

Get on the 7am boat with Captain Chris of White Sands. He is located at the dock next to Kaibo. Just drive past Rum Point approx. 1 mile. Kaibo is impossible to miss. We were the only group in Stingray City and had perfect smooth water. Believe we had a total of 12 people on board.
The Rays were incredible and so hand-tame. Fantastic memory swimming with them. They responded to Chris who brought food for the Rays and we all had a chance to feed them. The Rays were eager to mingle with us because we were the first group to feed them. White Sands provides all snorkel gear and life vests. Use the vest as a floatation device while snorkeling “the Reef”. Perfect buoyancy to float and really appreciate the vast marine life. Works great!
After an hour or so, we left Stingray CIty and Chris took us to the “Reef” where we snorkeled in crystal clear water. When we returned to the dock, we passed by Stingray City, probably close to 9:30, there were 4 or 5 boats, with their groups in the water...pretty crowded. SO GLAD we missed all that drama.
Leaving the dock, we discovered the best Croissants and Cappuccino, part of Kaibo on the entire island.
Go early and have a fantastic time as we did

What a stupid comparison listed here by the owner of the business....compared to slam your finger on a car door. Just to avoid responsibilities. THANK YOU for your write up so future clients know.

Anyone boarding a boat from the water during choppy conditions can be at risk, regardless of the safety features of the boat. It was very choppy when were out there as well, nearly choppy enough to cancel the tour (White Sands actually cancelled the tour the day before because of this, so they do care about visitors' safety out there). An accident of this type could certainly have happened to anyone. It's unfortunate, but it's the risk you take when you go on tours like this. While comparing it to slamming your finger in your car door might not seem appropriate or fair, it would probably be more like slipping on a patch of ice in your own driveway. It can happen, and be very damaging. Whose fault is it? I think Captain Chris was phenomenal and would advise people to not hold this one accident against them.

it looks like your question was already answered. I have nothing to add except that it was one of the most fun times we had in The Caymans.
