It was more like another Sunday market, I remembered it used to be like a farmers market a real “Tamu” . There are more store selling cheap clothings, shoes, toys than native farmers selling their produce. Very disappointing- especially for the tourists, who we’ve driven over an hour to see what they thought is a traditional native market selling native grown produce but now selling cheap products from China.

The market was bustling with vendors and buyers. Fresh fruits and vegetables are at very affordable price. You can find many new fruits found only in Sabah, and they are really, really delicious. The vendors will attentively answer my "ridiculous" questions such as "what is this?", how do you cook it? How do you eat it? Etc etc. The best part of it is i managed to find and buy the tarap fruit. To those who have the opportunity to go to any pasar tamu, do look for the "tarap fruit". If you are lucky, you can find them even if it is out of seadon

This market sold a lot pf vegetables and dried fish and local produce and used clothes. Cheap. Not many local crafts or knick knacks. Parking was a little haphazard.

Kota Belud was an unplanned overnight stop. We woke up bright and early. We decided to take in the sights and look for a place to have breakfast. We walked to the Tamu Market but the fruit stalls were still not opened. Lucky got us the roti restaurant was already buzzing with people. The roti canai was good. The coffee so-so. The market was still not 100% by the time we finished our breakfast

It was rainy day, the time i reached here almost 11am, some of the stalls were closed. The 'tamu' sell local fruits, handicraft, food and snack, seafood etc. Must try the huge tapioca cracker, penjaram and ring biscuit. It is sunday market, make sure come here on SUNDAY.

We have stayed in Kota Belud with our Malay friends and have visited the Sunday a few times. Lots of bargains to be had and they put on music and demonstrations.
