You can approach it by car, and follow small path. Beautifull experience to be close to something that grows from the time Christ was born

Well, this is "just a tree" in a tiny park, but once you have a way to Bar or other places, you should stop here and realize how important this plant is for the Mediteran sea area. You will see olive trees all around, but this one was analysed to be 2240 years old and still growing. Amazing! The entrance fee is only one euro - you pay to support the protection of the tree, because the local youngsters once tried to actually burn it. That is why they now put the fence around it. Bonus: our kids found a small turtle in the grass and played with it :-)

Half the fun is trying to find your way to the Old Olive tree from Stari Bar (Old Town). I was told it was about 2 km from Stari Bar and was given directions but of course I must of asked over 5 locals along the way, just because it was getting late and rain seemed imminent and I was not sure if I was always on the correct route. A pack of cute stray dogs greeted me before the tree. Since I was the only one there, I got to touch the tree and get my picture hugging the tree. But during peak season the lady who worked at the welcome center told me they are very strict about keeping outside the fence borders. It is an amazing site to see, a very, very old tree with the most gorgeously decorated tree trunk I have ever seen. Humbling. Definitely worth the trouble to find it, just be sure to ask the locals and don't be fooled by someone who says it is not walkable. It took about 20 min only to walk.

It's really boring and nothing really to see in Budva; even old olive tree became a top-ranked attraction. But it’s the same situation in each town in Montenegro, you can be bored to death there.

The tree is in the middle of nowhere, not all that big and you’re supposed to pay a Euro to enter.
The entrance fee doesn’t appear to get you much except a few meters closer to the tree. I saw it fine from the gate.
I wouldn’t mind paying if there was more there but it’s literally a tiny garden with a big tree in the middle.

This is really only a place to visit if you are passing by, not worth a special visit. An amazing tree that still gives fruit and they show you a certificate of authentication that it is 2,240 years old and one of only 3 olive trees in the world over 2000 years old, of which another one is in Greece.

Amazing old tree still growing in hotel grounds that still bears fruit.
In odd place, like the way the buildings have been built around it to preserve it.

A little slice of history - the tree is set in a lovely well kept courtyard. It is difficult to find and we relied on our taxi driver to show it to is.

Came across this "attraction" by accident on an afternoon run. Interesting at first, but as all information on sign was at local language with didnt know anything about it before we looked it up after.
