Vani Vilas Sagar Dam built during reign of Maharaja Wodeyar of Mysore. Located short distance off the National Highway from Hiriyur in Chitradurga District. Good place to visit during summer in Chitradurga

If you are travelling to chitradurga, you must visit this place before that. Its just 20KM from Hiriyur. Road till this place is very good. Need to take deviation from NH-48 at Hiriyur. Its is the Oldest dam in Karnataka constructed about 100 years back....More

Great place to visit with friends and family too... it's better to go early in the morning or evening before 5, because no visitors allowed after 6pm.

Vani Vilas Sagar is far away from the maddening crowd. Which is a relief. The dam built more than a century ago by britishers still contribute to the local community. It is a beautiful place. Not well maintained but better than expected. A Devi Temple...More

hello, i am planning with my management for camping there , drive to this place in the morning and return in the evening. is there any places to camp? restaurant for food?? can someone help me on this... am unable to get more info anywhere else !!

The area near the dam is a village. There were no restaurants seen around. Not sure about the camping site too.
