This was the first time I've ever been to the Maritime Centre at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea. Like most people, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea was something that was only known on the peripheral; I was aware of it, and had no cause to go and visit it. Training to become a volunteer for the forthcoming Tall Ship Regatta 2016 in Blyth, I went on a day... More

My wife and I have spent many a happy time in the cafe after our usual walk around the bay but on this occasion we came with relatives their boys aged 3 and 18months. It had never occurred to me on passed visits how unfriendly the toilets are for children. I was nominated to take their eldest boy to the... More

Went here while staying in hospital. I was recovering so couldn't go on the walk, however I was given the choice so I sat on my own. I think I have been here twice. Once I had the soup it was gorgeous with a good view. Good outdoor area too but seats were not that sturdy. I have a lovely... More

Called in to this friendly and lively community based cafe. It just so happened that there was a free entry music night on. Local musicians jammin and performing. Good event. Runs once a months.

It was very good cafe and they do have lovely sandwiches and it was a very good value for it. It was beautiful day and the sun shining in felt like spring. It was good to have a rest there after a long walk. Thank you to the staff.

Thank you amanda227 for your kind comments. We are so lucky having a cafe with such spectacular views. It is certainly an oasis after a long walk. Sure we will have an increase in walkers soon, when the U.K. Coastal Path is opened, South Bents, through Newbiggin by the Sea to Amble next year. More

Clean and presentable with a reasonable selection of salads and cooked food. Like their bacon sandwiches. The cakes and scones are always delicious. Lovely setting looking over the bay. Car park behind and a nice flat walk around the bay.

After walking along the beach on a cold windy Saturday morning with the dogs decided to visit the cafe to get warm and get something to eat and drink. Place was busy as there was a folk group performing, and we were lucky to find a table and even luckier to see that the "Specials on the board" included fish... More

Thank you Mike V for your kind words. Loose Change, the local folk group come to the Breakwater Cafe each Saturday to play, we love having them as do our customers. Maybe the fish pie is made to a 'Newbiggin' recipe😉but it is tasty. Our Charity is so fortunate to have such an amazing building and position. Please call again. More
