Being a life long history fanatic and living within 6 miles of Portchester it took me longer than it should have to visit this place. I always had the impression it was just a ruin and some walls. How wrong i was. This castle is...More

One a beautiful blue sky warm day i would recommend a visit. The grounds are clean and open space for picnic. Will not be disappointed to walk around the castle. The staff are very kind and courteous and make you feel welcomed.

Lovely grounds, superb church with a beautiful cafe inside which makes a lovely cup of tea. Castle a bit run down but work is currently ongoing to the Keep to sustain it for the future. Didn't afford the best pictures as such but appreciate that...More

I managed to convince my mother to go to this castle as a day out, as the weather was finally good enough. We weren't expecting much, as it is in ruins, however there are exhibitions inside and you can climb the keep. It's a really...More

The bus stops at the town and it is only a short walk south bound to the castle. Alternately the train station is only 5 minutes walk from the town centre and there is also a taxi firm there
