Once a busy industrial canal wharf, Aldermaston Wharf is now a picture of tranquillity. It’s great place to start exploring the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal.

We've had many a pleasant trip to this location. Really good for long walks both ways along the canal. The cafe in the cottage has been helpful and friendly. But today was the first visit after the redevelopment of the area. The pay and display...More

Great place to come fishing on the River Kennet at this location for chub that are quite easy to catch and also to catch shy, hard fighting Kennet barbel. Favourite baits vary but luncheon meat or curry powdered luncheon meat can be deadly.

Boating, mooring and having a pit stop in this lovely part of the K&A is always a pleasure and have always met the most interesting people, whether boaters, dogwalkers, cyclists or families, I highly recommend it.

We were here to hire a canal boat. The staff greeted us enthusiastically and full of advise. The office was run efficiently and there was control of staff with walkie-talkie. This made for a very efficient process. Some staff were cleaning boats from return or...More
