Surprisingly enjoyable. The village is constructed to replicate a Swazi Village. The most enjoyable part of the visit was the performance of the singers and dancers. Their costumes were very colorful and their singing and dancing was very enjoyable

The hotel we stayed in recommended this to us, but charged quite a lot, so we decided to do it ourselves. It was not difficult to find (right on the border to Swaziland) and they were very flexible. We got there at 11.30 and there were no other visitors. They gave us a tour of the village and performed dances... More

It might not be authentic but it gives you a peak into swazi life. Who wants people peeping at them anyway. Their dance and singing was just beautiful. I thoroughly loved this experience. I cannot believe there aren't more reviews. The buffet food was pretty good too.

We weren't sure at first about the idea of this cultural village visit but we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the visit. We were first given a tour of a typical Swazi homestead. This proved very valuable as we later drove past many Swazi homes because we now knew why the homes were set up with larger... More

Crossing from Swaziland into South Africa is a gem of a restaurant, Matsamo Cultural Village. We had a buffet lunch of average food but what made this place so special was the cultural show of dancing and singing, it was spectacular.

A purpose-built Swazi Village, just for tourists, so perhaps not so authentic, like so many similar attractions in Southern Africa. The place is highly entertaining nevertheless. The "village" was interesting, and we were shown around by a lovely friendly and knowledgeable guide (Mampompo, perhaps?) The show itself was incredible, with a very polished performance of traditional singing and dancing. Reasonably... More

The buffet had an excellent variety of salad and hot foods -- they even had ice cream. Dining area is in a large shaded area. The tour of the huts and display of dancing and singing were a nice way to take in some of the traditional folk culture. Bystanders were encouraged to participate at the end of the program... More

A cultural experience well worth the visit. Albeit staged for the tourist. There's a good restaurant and very clean toilets which is a lovely bonus. Staff were delightful and they really try to pass on the couture and history. I have no criticism of this tourist attraction but i would have preferred if possible to visit a village and walk... Matsamo Cultural village is a great experience, however there is something wrong with the management. It seems they only target guests that are walk-in as trying to get a reservation is simply impossible. Email addresses on their website are conflicting and are not operational or stay unanswered up to three weeks! Telephone numbers do not exist (such as the one... More
