Our B & B hostess suggested we visit Fanore Beach, traveling from Kenmare to Ballyvaughan. We walked along the promenade and also along the beach. We sat on the rocks and watched the surfers from the surfing school practicing. There are beautiful views of the Burren along with the sea views.
Parking is pay and display. There is a play ground in a fenced in area next to the beach. There is an ice cream shop, cafe and restrooms near the playground. It seems like there should be picnic tables or benches along the beach or promenade, but we did not see any.

Recently stayed just up the street from this beach - what a hidden gem! Sadly the weather was cloudy and cold while there but the beach was still beautiful. I look forward to visiting the area again someday and hopefully can enjoy the beach with better weather.

Beware of jellyfish if you have dogs. I stupidly let my golden retriever swim in ocean and think she was stung by the jellyfish as has not been herself since she came home so take caution letting dogs in water

Located on the outskirts of the small village of Fanore, the beach is well signposted. We went in February, which meant we had the beach to ourselves for a while. There is a free car park and toilet facilities onsite, (closed out of season). Information boards tell you about the area. Access to the beach is via a boardwalk but there are great views of the beach from a well made wooden platform. The beach is sandy and bordered by dunes which are roped off as they form part of a conservation area. The beach area is beautiful, great photos can be taken. Well worth a visit.

Probably the most beautiful place iv seen in Ireland. We were down in doolin for a wedding during the summer. The day after, we took a trip to fanore beach for a couple of hours for a few cans and a picnic. The water was so warm and crystal clear. While there were a few jelly fish floating around - the wildlife didn't end there. We were out in the water a fair distance out as the tide was low and at very short distance away from us was a couple of pods of dolphins! There was at least 8 altogether, inudung babies. They gave us quite a show. They were jumping up and down for us and doing spins and everything. Every single person on the beach that day, were on their feet cheering them on. It was an unbelievable experience - lasted Round 10-15 mins or so. Money couldn't of paid for it. If you've ever wanted to see dolphins up close and personal and are near fanore on your holidays / vacation - just go and see if you will be as lucky as we were to catch these gorgeous animals in the wild showing off for us all to see.

Aside from that, the beach itself is stunning!

Fanore Beach is a lovely place for a day out. With a good car park, a lovely coffee doc and great views of the burren. The lifeguards are extremely helpful, kind and knowledgeable. I got stung by a Weaver Fish, at the time I didn't know what it was, I though it was a Jelly Fish sting. The pain was gradually getting worse so I went to the lifgaurds to see if they have any cream. They told me what it was and said the best thing was to put my foot in hot water and let it soak and draw out the poison from the Weaver bite. They were very helpful and kind to me and my foot is all better now thanks to them seeing to it straight away. I would like to say a personal thank you to the lifeguards that were on duty at that time - Cathal, Ruairi and Ewan, thank you guys for taking care of my foot!

Fab beach, surf school, parking, shower, ok toilets and a lifeguard with the Burren as a backdrop....Could this be heaven?! Sand a bit grainy obviously and a few jelly fish but a brilliant day out in this magical county. Highly recommend.
