I visited this little gallery on Saturday and what a gem. It is exhibiting some fantastic art at the moment from the Isle of Man Art Festival. The old mill has not lost its charm and is well worth a visit.

The exhibitions are very well organised & always interesting. The shops are full of tempting Manx products including clothes, tweed, yarn, gifts, cards & art work. To complete your visit there is the wonderful Craftea Weaver Tearoom with its delicious variety of delicious cakes, light meals & drinks. This place is a real treat.

I came across the woollen mill by chance and fell in love with the place. The scarves, wraps, rugs etc are beautifully made and the colours are superb. I saw the exhibition but the thing I will always remember is how friendly and chatty they are, even discussing hip operations! I made several further visits there in my week stay... More

Really enjoyed the temporary quilting exhibition upstairs 'Chinese Whispers'. The mill itself had a wide range of woollen garments and yarn, and a lovely dog. Interesting to see the historic looms, though not being operated.

Went here having been last year. Very disappointed, the actual Mill shop was deserted and felt soulless. The Manx presents bit which used to be at the entrance to the Mill Shop has moved to a small shop upstairs by the cafe which has taken something away from the Mill shop itself. Shame. Didn't enjoy my visit so much this... More

I'm not an enthusiast of woollen mills having visited several in Scotland, and the Laxey Mill has not altered my view, although it was interesting to see the seemingly bored operative, weaving the cloth. The gallery above also contained several mediocre paintings, with only a few warranting display, in my opinion. The best features of the Mill, seemed to be... More
