We met French, Germans and Swedes on our hike of Mount Soufrière. Quite windy & the fog had us “socked in” which we were forewarned about. Bring an extra layer , dry sox, and a croakie for you glasses if you wear them. Still a...More

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, our family decided to take a break from the beach and hike! We traveled from Sainte Anne, which took a little over two hours (despite what GPS originally said). The parking lot at the trail head was minimal so we...More

Wear rain gear! It's misty, with occasional machine-gun rainstorms, followed by rainbows and bright sun. Because of the weather, we didn't get great views. But we loved the path, the difficulty, the signage, the challenge -- and the reward of making it to the top!...More

Beautiful hike, pretty difficult, it take us about 2h30 to start from les bains jaunes park to the souffriere and come back. Important to come early to be able to park (pretty crowded and limited park spots available).

Hiked the volcano with a guide. The path is not well marked and since there are many ascents or descents I would highly recommend hiring a guide. Be forewarned that when you ask for an english guide, you don't always get someone completely fluent in...More

It makes for a good physical hike for a day. Took us about 3 hours roundtrip. Obviously, it is pretty much all up and then all down. Some parts are steep. Has some nice views about half way up. At the top it was cloudy,...More

We arrived early to try to access the Carpark, however it was closed due to hurricane damage. From where we had to park to the Carpark was a 45 min walk, so it adds 1.5hrs to the hike. The walk would be about 2.5hrs if...More

We booked a hike up La Soufriere while we were staying at Fort Royal and are so glad we did. Our guide 'Johanne' was extremely knowledgable about the ecosystems, flora and fauna and had a good sense of humour. He took us up the volcano...More

Separately from cardio fitness, I found the downhill portion of this hike to be hard on the knees, so keep that in mind too.
