Chelavar Falls is a beautiful environment
The road near is next to the coffee estate and if you walk 200 meters you will see Chelavara. You can see the falls but locals are advised not to go near the water.
Because last year 20 tourists lost their lives in the water
And my bad experience in this fall's rock was slippery
And its too much deep near 100 to 150 feet!
Anyway my advise you go to down near falls but dont touch water because some poisonous water snake are there in water and near rocks
Anyway i swim in this fall's and explored well
Once you check my youtube channel

If you are trekking lover you can go there, but its not too long trekking path. Google maps shows way directly to falls, but you can reach there, stop 1 KM before that and talk walk (trek) and go down to falls.

Nice waterfalls but not able to go near to it as it's a private property and not easily accessible to the falls. May be there won't be much water during summer.

This waterfalls is little less crowded compared to other falls in coorg, due to remote location and little steep terrain to see the falls. 10 min walk on muddy or slippery pathway is a bit challenging. However you can see the watefalls from a sideway at a distance, as authority has closed the pathway leading to plunge of falls at base.Take extra precaution as rocks are slippery during monsoon. During our visit there is little raining and we couldn't spend much time at view point.
10 min. walk is not feasible for senior citizen.
However waterfalls having magnificent view in rainy season.

Its a waterfall as exciting as any, even the approach is very sloppy, This is a non maintained place with no signage anywhere. Nothing much for those for widely traveled.

Its an excellent and magnificent water fall in Madikeri. We can view it from top - how it is failing down from the river level ( should be very careful ) and can step down and see the fall from below also..

The view around the waterfall was mind blowing. Although the water was less in the waterfall. The ambience was quite peaceful.

Road to falls is not good to travel with kids it's risky to travel with kids and nearly 24 people lost life at this place so my suggestion is not to explore this place and in case you want to take risk then please be very careful.

Such an amazing place to be with friends. Even though the trek to water fall would test your will, but its worth risking. During rainy season, the place is slippery and with presence of leeches at times. Playing in water isnt allowed during heavy water flow but you can witness the falls in full glory around rainy season. Connectivity to the place is good but would require trekking of nearly 1.5 kms from parking.

Disappointing after a one hour jumpy ride to the falls. About 700m climb for a peek to the falls. Anti climax when you reach the viewpoint for the falls - take a couple of photos & back home !

No guide or any sort of help will be required. You have to climb a little, go down a little and then it appears. Beware of slippery mud and stones and just stand still at the end. Don't try to take a bath.
