The Grand Mosque is why people come to Touba and it is impressive. One has to be aware that major construction work will be ongoing till at least 2017/2018. Many elements are being redone that includes the minaretts as well as many ceilings.

Gorgeous compound, lots of activity, very friendly people happy to let you photograph. (not always the case in mosques). the minarets are all in scaffolding, however, so no great photos of those to be had right now.
Largest mosque in Senegal. Important pilgrimage destination. Non-Muslims allowed to enter the corridors surrounding the central prayer area, but may not enter the heart of the mosque. Several minarets covered with scaffolding during my visit made any photo of the mosque from a distance impossible....More
Unless you are travelling via Touba to somewhere else and have a few minutes to spare, in my view, the mosque is not worth the visit and non muslims are not allowed into the mosque, only the outer enclosure.
