Edzna is a grand site. Its grandeur is the best seen from the steps of Nohoch-Na across the Great Acropolis and at the Acropolis itself. Climbing the Building of the Five Stories is prohibited unfortunately.
The road is very quiet and there is no gas station or stores to buy snacks or water. Be prepare in advance before you leave the city. It is a two way traffic road, so, be careful. I am not sure if there are Tour...More
Of all the archaeological sites that we have seen over the years, this place rates as one of the best.
Founded at around 600 BC this site grew to be the biggest in the state of Campeche, after Calakmul. It boasts numerous well preserved structures,...More
This archeological site is a bit out of the way, but completely worth your while.
Wonderfully well preserved.
Can visit during a day trip either from Mérida, or campeche city.
Later on we had a late lunch at the wonderful hacienda Uayamón.
Get hear at 9 AM and you'll have the place to yourself! We loved this site and overall enjoyed it more than Chichen Itza. We used guide from Kankabi OK Tours from Champeche and had a faboulous experience. You'll need 2-3 hours on the site...More

The bus leaves from the south Champoton Terminal. First run at 6am and then at 10 am (check for changes with your concierge or a travel agency). We took a personal tour in car, for $1,000.00 pesos (more or less $50.00 dlls.)

Catch the 40 peso colectivo outside of Mercado Principal - on Chihuahua at Calle Nicaragua. The final destination was Pich and Edzna is about 11 km before. The driver took me right to the gate for Edzna. Walked back to the street for a pick-up. For the return trip I can suggest catching the collectivo to Pich if you see that first. It's a 10 minute ride and then it waits a bit before returning to Campeche. And then you can get your favourite seat back.
