You may rent chairs that are spaced apart-and I really appreciate the fact I don't have to listen to two housewives from New Jersey, who probably live in the same neighborhood back home, chat and chat and chat. (I avoid beaches that stack the chairs three deep from the water) The area is very interesting to view with sheer cliffs... More

We visit Red Beach during every vacation on SXM! Chez Raymond is the main reason! Great grilled foods for lunch..fish, chicken, ribs, in a meal or a sandwich! Of course the other reason is the FROZEN DRINKS! Happy Hour Starts at 3 - 4 half price on the frozen drinks! Nice variety of drinks and his specialty..Raymond Special..it has almost... More

This is definitely one of the best beaches in St. Maarten. I spent a few hours there and it was great.

Went island sightseeing by atv and this was one stop. Nice clean little beach and the sand is soft. Seemed to be a lot of families there on this day. There is parking but I can see how it could get very busy and hard to find a spot. Nice little find and place to spend the afternoon. I did... More

This is worth going to for the two beach bars that are located there. You literally are seated at chairs that sink into the sand when you sit down just feet from the water. We ate at Gus's Beach Bar which has to start the generator when they turn on the blender for the daquaries. Definitely worth the stop for... More

It's been years since we visited Baie Rouge and today, returned. We like to walk beaches and after fighting the mushy, grainy sand and sinking up to our ankles, we gave up. Raymond's has good food, if you don't mind the 2 hour process from sitting down at a table to leaving. The worst thing is the "bathroom." No running... More

If you can find Baie Rouge it's the nicest beach on the island that we found. Really good Snorkeling on the far right of the beach. This was by far the least crowded and waves were not bad the day we were there. This is a good spot to spend the day relaxing! I attached a picture by the road... More

It was a very scenic, pretty, clean and well-maintained beach but the waves were too much for us. We could not swim without the current and waves pushing us very far away so we had to leave to another beach where we could swim.

This beach was a little tricky to find, but once there we really enjoyed it. Got a little busy mid-day, but never seemed crowded. Beach bars were fun and served decent beach food and drinks (reasonably priced -- but bring cash). Beach chairs and umbrella were $20, with no discount for eating at one of the beach bars. Lots of... One of the great things about St Martin is that there are so many great beaches, each a little different. Like many-the signage is not that great so easy to miss. The sand is deep--sort of like cornmeal texture instead of sugar like many other beaches. The good news is that it brushes off easily. Head to the right to... More
