Our 3rd visit in the last year to St Martin, and always to Happy Bay. My wife and I have been considering buying property up on the hill (Mount Choisy), BUT now are not so sure. It seems there is a lot more development to...More

Wife and I visited many beaches on the island but this is one we came back to. I loved it. Wish more beaches in the world were like this one. There are more beautiful beaches in the world but this one is still extremely beautiful....More

It was unusually rough the day we visited. Waves were 2-3 feet high and made swimming and snorkeling difficult. Danny, a local, said the rough surf was very uncommon. Someone had put up a fence from his property to the surf line causing people to...More

We loved our days at Happy Bay beach. The hike in from Friars Bay beach was beautiful, quite rocky so wear study sandals or sneakers. It's a very quite and private and trees for shade.

This a great beach. Nice area, plenty of shade and easy surf. It's a 15 minute hike back but well worth it. There was a small bar open but very limited. If you want it you should pack it in. It is on the French...More

My husband and I parked at Friar's Bay Beach and walked 10-15 minutes on a rocky path over a large hill to get to Happy Bay Beach. There's a sign on the main road marking where to turn off to get to Friar's Bay Beach....More

This was a lovely little beach (once we found it). There is a lot of activity going on which I'm sure will attract more people to this spot. I believe it's some kind of music festival. It would be great if future reviews of this...More

This is my favorite beach. It used to be more secluded than this year. Even though, it is still worth visiting. We arrive before 11am to put our order in with Danny. He has cheap beers, rum punch, ribs and chicken dinners. There are no...More

My fav getaway spot on the entire island with no hotels or restaurants. Just a very scenic beach cove. Park at Friars Bay, wear good hiking shoes, and follow the path for about 10-15 mins. til you see a home made sign that says "beach"....More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Would my wife and I feel comfortable nude sunbathing at Happy Bay. We are rather new at it and want to enjoy it. We also want to swim nude in the ocean, is that a problem. Are there areas that offer privacy. What is the best day of the week to visit Happy Bay and have the beach to ourselves or at least very few people. If this is not a good beach for being nude, which ones are. Less people the better.

Great beach for newbies!!!! Not the weekend as locals tend to gather but during the week would be great.

Yes. It wasn't clear to us exactly what was being built or how extensive it was going to be - only that the pace seemed unhurried.
