A piece of my heart was left here. Incredible wildlife, so much space, well-organized park. It's so good I almost don't want to spill the secret ;)

After a week in the Serengeti area, with its feeding frenzy of vehicles jockeying for position around lion cubs and churning up a lot of dust, The Ruaha was a delightful surprise. It's the size of Denmark (minus its Greenland and Faroe territories). It has...More

Other reviewers will tell you the statistics for this massive game reserve, but be prepared to be one of only a few tourists who visit this reserve. This means you and your guide will be the only people looking at hippo, lion, leopard, wild dogs,...More

We had the best time. The accommodations were lovely. Alex, our hostess, was very gracious and welcoming. Godfrey, our safari leader, was informative and very eager to please. No complaints.

This is the dry season and can average 27C/81F during the day and 14C/57F at night. I would assume a good netting without holes and tucked in should be good.

The park entrance fee is $30, but you need a car to get there and can't go in without a guide; not sure what the weather is like in April since I don't live in Tanzania!

I used a company in Iringa called Santiago Safari and spent 24 hours in Ruaha National Park. A guide called Roy Robert Mahimbi was our guide, look him up on Facebook to ask for prices :)
