A short visit to the Lace Museum / Museo del Merletto will certainly show you things you didn’t know beforehand. There are examples of Lace types, patterns, machines, tools & implements. Our guide was a Lace Afficianado so we got a lot out of a...More

Very small exhibition, no audio guide. All info is provided on cards that are not really connected to the exponats. The only reason to visit it is the "museum pass" that you may be bought in mistake. Better go shopping for lace in near stores.

It is a small museum with a minimalistic exhibition of different laces and a few paintings of people wearing lace. There was nothing special about it and I wasn’t impressed by it. So if you are not a big fan of lace, skip it and...More

We were not able to visit inside the museum as we had a toddler with us who would not keep still. Our guide did recommend this place to see lace work and stone pieces.

A well done museum. A couple of films that covered the history of lace making. The display pieces were gorgeous. You can cover it in 15 minutes or spend hours. Worth the price of admission. Very small gift shop that was mostly books.

A lot of the lace shops have their own collection of lace on show, one was so impressive, over two floors, we we not sure that it was not the museum itself. The museum is more informative about the history and Burano. 5 euros entry,...More

Spacious and beautifully laid out modern museum with exhibits over four rooms. At the start there's a very informative and well made film which gave us a lot of background to the history of the individual stitches. Good examples of lace from different eras as...More

A small and nice museum. You will briefly learn about the lace manufacturing traditions through a video and the exhibits. If you want to know more you have to buy a book. If you are in Burano, pay a short visit, but the museum is...More

An old singer machine was on display. We have the same machine in our home from when our grandmother sewed. The Mary Odegetria wal icon, a replica of Torcello's Basilica, showed intricate lace work on her garment. I have seen this lace work in other...More

The day we visited Burano, the smell in the Lace Museum was so intensely bad that we had to leave after just a few minutes. At first I thought it was the bathroom, but the smell was everywhere. When we left I even smelled it...More
