The main entrance is through the stairs in the " Carrer Major" . We arrived at the monastery and found the doors locked and no one to ask. Do not worry , be calm I thought to myself : We rang the bell and somebody told us to wait 20 minutes for another guided tour. The guided tour through the... More

A convent, rather than a monastery or abbey. It's smaller and more refined than its bigger brethren in the Cistercian triangle. Well worth getting into.

The monastery was closed when we got there. The man at the wine store/tourist information office tried to explain to us when they open but his English was not very good and I didn't understand him. The monastery's exterior looks very interesting. And the views on the way there were magnificent. It was worth a try

a truly traditional buildings, with nice atmosphere. Calm your heart down, take a walk around the village, or take a look around this area with car.

A high historical value monastery from XI century, surrounded by a stunning landscape in the midst of the Cistercian Route. The guided tour has the ideal last (1 hour) where trough a pleasant and dynamic way it is explained the main architectonic aspects of the building as well as the remarkable historic facts that took place in it. A good... More

You'll need to get here by car. Part of the Ruta del Cister of the three Cistercian monasteries, including Poblet and Santes Creus; you can get a joint ticket for the three and get a discount. If you are driving around this área by car, definitely pay a visit. It's not far from such attractive towns as Ciutadilla and Guimerà.... More

Only open at weekends and Easter week etc, in spite of what the guide books say. Didn't seem to be worth the drive after the magnificent setting and buildings of Poblet and Santes Creus

this is the smallest of the 3 monasteries in the route of the cisters after Poblet and Santes Creus (also worth a visit) the town it is situated in is worth a visit in itself, quite off the beaten track and therefore not overcrowded. The visit to the Monastery is guided at specific times, 4 euros, and you can also go... More

This is the smallest and the least impressive of the 3 Cistercian Monasteries. The tour was in Catalonian which was quite hard to follow. We think time is better spent elsewhere.
