We love Sissinghurst. It has everything - history, characters, gardens, sex and long walks. But to appreciate as a day out venue you really need to choose a day of blue skies, gentle breezes and flower-scented air warmed by a friendly sun. Unfortunately our most...More

Unfortunately it was a grey, drizzly day when we visited this very interesting Castle. This was a problem as the gardens are the primary attraction of this place. There are a few things to see that are indoors - the new exhibition centre is well...More

We have visited this garden many times over the years and been inspired by it, so we were keen to go back this year. We were really disappointed with the overall appearance, starting with the car park, where paths were overgrown. As we walked down...More

Interesting walks through the gardens and around the lakes. The Oast House exhibition includes a first class audio-visual presentation of history of Sissinghurst and in particular, it's association with Vita Sackville-West. One of the more compact National Trust properties. Discreet signs where paths meet would...More

A garden on my bucket list for so long only for me to be disappointed by what we saw. The lack of rain has, in my opinion, put the garden under stress and many plants were suffering. Also many beds were full plants left in...More
