Has a great collection from the early era and is a delight for any aviation enthusiast.

Visited on a Sunday morning in November. Free parking onsite but there is an entry fee (15 euro for the entire family). Exhibits were plentiful with some interesting aircraft, and even some info on rockets. Easy accessible from Munich if you have a car.
Even if you are not an aircraft enthusiast, this museum offers exhibits from the early times of flying to space rockets for all ages. There are quite a few attractions for children and adults alike. Better still combine it with a tour through Unterschleißheim Palace.

Some great planes that I haven't seen in the...More
We caught the train out here. Hubby is an aviation buff and really enjoyed it. I found it very interesting. We spent 2-3 hours here. Didn’t see any cars but there was a wide variety of aircraft, some with very interesting stories.

If you're an aviation enthusiast or aircraft fanatic, you have to make sure you visit this museum. Most tourists to Munich don't know of this place, because in the heart of the city is the Deutsches Museum, which in it's own right is massive.
